Congrats to Lauri and Merle on weight-loss achievements. Maybe someday I'll do likewise. :)

Well done, Lauri!

I've recently started a program myself - H picked up a Wii, with among other things the balance board and a copy of Wii Fit, and I've actually done some of the exercises. I've learned the Half-Crescent pose in the Yoga section makes my left side ache, which means that either I need a lot of work there or I'm Marvin the Paranoid Android ("I've got this terrible pain in the diodes all down my left side"). I've also learned that putting in Wii Sports as a reward to myself also just extends the workout, especially if I play tennis. It's fun, but it's a workout! :) No results to report so far, because I'm only into Day Two...

Well, I finally did it!! Last July I decided it was time to lose weight and give myself a makeover. At the time I weighed 190 lbs. 8O

As of this morning I have lost 50 lbs. and am down to the size 6 that I set as my goal!

AHAH! You're responsible for it. You left all those pounds running around unattended and they found their way down here and onto my.... goodness, the doctor says I've put on a little weight. Can't go back to the gym yet, but better do so!

congrats! that's an accomplishment to be proud of, kiddo.

I guess I missed the weight-loss theme but to me this is perhaps the hardest task in life and deserves more than a Nobel prize. Years ago I joined some weird 'Life' thing where everybody lost weight and started looking like magazine people. I felt guilty since I lost weight weight and still ooked like a 'real' people. I quit smoking and now can't fit into my car. i exercise more that professional atheletes and can't drop a pound so super congrates to anybody who endeavored to become 'new' again.

Spring is only a week old and we had hail and reports of a tornado touching down about a mile from where I live... 8O

I went to my regular dentist today for a small filling. I've been seeing this guy for about 30 years. He mentioned that he could 'do' some things to 'improve' my smile so I asked him why after 30 years he finally made this suggestion and he looked at me somewhat puzzled and just said that maybe it was time I needed a little extra 'punch' to get me through life.
I'm still contemplating why I need extra 'punch' but I had him redo my teeth just in case I didn't catch on to what he was talking about. I've got really great looking teeth now but I'm still so fat that I can't see my dick.

Thirty years in the same job and he's handing you advice on how to tweak your image? The nerve...

Also? Being able to see your own nether regions is overrated. That's why God created mirrors: So you can look — or not — as you yourself see fit.

And finally: About damn time you came and posted here, garyww. 8)

I guess it was just creeping old age that finally forced into this nether region.

Hi, Nan! I thought maybe you'd hopped on a plane and flown over the ocean already. I think we'll be booking our flights come June. A good friend of mine has a time-share thingy that can be used in many places, Ireland being one of them. She figures it would be Around $50 Canadian a night for us to stay in a townhouse in either Dublin or Derry.

Merle, I had to go back and do a helluva lot of reading to find your post about losing weight. GOOD FOR YOU!! It 's not easy, is it? I lost because I was tired of feeling achy and tired all the time. Guess what? It didn't work. I'm still achy and tired but at least now I can knit smaller sweaters. :P

I finally bit the bullet and listened to my doctor. He's been at me for years to go on AISH (disability) for my Crohn's, fibro and migraines. He says busting my butt is only going to make my health worse and he's right. I had a meeting with the people who will then pass me over to the other people for approval. Apparently being broken paid off because I didn't have to a lot of talking to get them to believe me. And the good part is that I can still work up to 20 hours a week without losing any of the benefits and they take care of many expenses for the kids. I'm too proud to like the idea that I had to do this, and I still don't see myself as being any worse off than anyone else, but it will make life quite a bit easier.

Now that I'm done my monologue, it's time to dust this old cafe and give the floor tiles a polish. And the plants..... when was the last time anyone pretended to water the artificial beauties??

Stick with the Wii and I'm sure you'll see some results! I work up a sweat just watching my kids play that thing. It's probably a good thing I have 4 kids that drive me nuts. They're great incentive to haul my arse outside and walk to get away. ;)

extra 'punch'? he didn't inject testosterone in with the Novocaine did he?

Merle
The first time I looked down and could see my pubic hair was greying was when I really realized I had lost enough weight to matter. I can't say that in front of Postie, it drives him wild because he hasn't the slightest idea what color HIS is!
