Hi, Nan! I thought maybe you'd hopped on a plane and flown over the ocean already. I think we'll be booking our flights come June. A good friend of mine has a time-share thingy that can be used in many places, Ireland being one of them. She figures it would be Around $50 Canadian a night for us to stay in a townhouse in either Dublin or Derry.
Merle, I had to go back and do a helluva lot of reading to find your post about losing weight. GOOD FOR YOU!! It 's not easy, is it? I lost because I was tired of feeling achy and tired all the time. Guess what? It didn't work. I'm still achy and tired but at least now I can knit smaller sweaters.
I finally bit the bullet and listened to my doctor. He's been at me for years to go on AISH (disability) for my Crohn's, fibro and migraines. He says busting my butt is only going to make my health worse and he's right. I had a meeting with the people who will then pass me over to the other people for approval. Apparently being broken paid off because I didn't have to a lot of talking to get them to believe me. And the good part is that I can still work up to 20 hours a week without losing any of the benefits and they take care of many expenses for the kids. I'm too proud to like the idea that I had to do this, and I still don't see myself as being any worse off than anyone else, but it will make life quite a bit easier.
Now that I'm done my monologue, it's time to dust this old cafe and give the floor tiles a polish. And the plants..... when was the last time anyone pretended to water the artificial beauties??
