Hey guys, Justice is here. :) No, really, my name is Justice.

Then you must be super tight with Jay and his hetero lifemate Silent Bob. Snootch to tha Nootch, Juss.

If the ratio of Aspies to NTs is roughly 1 in 150, how is it that you personally know 5? You must work in a Mental Health Clinic.

And when did you get out of prison, yo? :D

 Actually when I was in high school, I volunteered to help out in an after-school program for special needs kids. I met 3 Aspies there, with whom I still keep in touch with to this day. (We do have email in prison after all.) 8)
As for the other 2, maybe they hastily self-diagnosed, but I don't think so.

Welcome, is there anything in particular you are looking for? Or are you simply trying to learn more about As. Either way, welcome, it's a friendly sort of place. Too friendly sometimes. Damn appreciation threads...

Argh... I despise smileys. I've never used one.

OK, I promise no smileys in this response haha

I simply want to learn more about AS (and not just from psychological textbooks). Because when I first look at you guys, you seem normal and functioning, but there's this interesting difference with you guys that's so subtle and hard to pin down, which is intriguing.

you say justice i say just is

one says jean a pair say genies
another says it mostly geniuses

who is to say what in the cards
may spicy luck deliver justice

some walk together some on their own
quietly alone see other ones running

no room for anger smaller ones crawl
please trip them gently it's just that
none like to fall at life's secretive ball
won't someone invite us we are just
taller children that's all, after all

be careful with that axe, you gene

....................................................................

post script'm:

; ]] hi mate!

after all that, i just want to say welcome, hope you will be found by what you are looking for

in terms of 'professional' things to do
(that i believe really high-functioning ones also need but can organize themselves and,
more importantly, could do for the less fortunate fellows),
you may be interested in what the dutch autism association (NVA) has managed to get recognized at national policy level (although i think they are missing the crucial point)

have no time now, but there may be translated material available

the term is LEVENSLOOP-BEGELEIDER,
literally 'guide for the run of life' (life-span guidance)

in itself it is good there is now official recognition for the fact that autism requires life-long
'accompanying>guidance', the term itself is only just wide of the mark, but fatally....

in the end, it's the economy, stupid!
all i would have ever 'needed' was ONE stable (just occasionally checking up on me) ...

... levensLOOPBAANbegeleider
(we cloggies are almost as bad as the gerries in getting our words to.get.her)

- the word 'loopbaan', derived from 'the track=walk one walks' meaning '(working) career'
(i would rather say 'income career') -
that is the essential thing, the rest ought to be 'optional'

there always needs to be that safety net, to allow us to fall

maybe it's what once was called 'family' or 'friend'

or does that sound somewhat bitter... o well, that's me then

good luck!
