Actually when I was in high school, I volunteered to help out in an after-school program for special needs kids. I met 3 Aspies there, with whom I still keep in touch with to this day. (We do have email in prison after all.)
As for the other 2, maybe they hastily self-diagnosed, but I don't think so.

I simply want to learn more about AS (and not just from psychological textbooks). Because when I first look at you guys, you seem normal and functioning, but there's this interesting difference with you guys that's so subtle and hard to pin down, which is intriguing.

you may be interested in what the dutch autism association (NVA) has managed to get recognized at national policy level (although i think they are missing the crucial point)

have no time now, but there may be translated material available

the term is LEVENSLOOP-BEGELEIDER,
literally 'guide for the run of life' (life-span guidance)

in itself it is good there is now official recognition for the fact that autism requires life-long
'accompanying>guidance', the term itself is only just wide of the mark, but fatally....

(i would rather say 'income career') -
that is the essential thing, the rest ought to be 'optional'

there always needs to be that safety net, to allow us to fall
