I need to read Hugo, as I understand he was the first to publish a work of science fiction, of which I am a fan.

I'm actually, in hindsight, grateful for Tequila's abrasiveness. I find too much 'warm and fuzzy' emotion overwhelming.

I was gratified at your way of writing. It was the way I used to communicate until it was buried under tons of prohibitive input from various teachers, bosses, etc. It's refreshing and wonderful to see someone write this way. It felt like coming home. I understood you perfectly, and it's great that you felt okay to share this with us. Welcome to WP!

That reminded me of the book I'm reading right now. Moby-Dick. I sometimes talk a little bit like that. But still, not nearly the same.

i would talk like that if i truly wanted to but, i don't know, i guess you could say i don't feel like it. if i started talking with a well-rounded tongue then i'd confuse myself and wonder...was that me?

Yes, Melville and I were probably cut from the same cloth.

I was re-programmed for many years to be a part of the current anti-literate culture of cool and slang. But I honestly feel choked most of the time, and choose to not speak (or type) for fear of further alienation.

Now I'll be free to express my thoughts. This must be what a gay person coming out of the closet must feel like when she has felt her first kiss from a girl.

It takes me awhile to get acclimated to a new environment, especially one with such well-established personalities as this (talk about your big fish in a little pond visiting the ocean for the first time!).

Ha! If I could remember names, I'm sure that I would have more friends than I currently do now.
