I think you are right, it sounds like not pursuing her is the best way to deal with it. When I was in that situation, I felt like Alice falling down the rabbit hole (in the Disney film, "Alice in Wonderland"). I felt like I had no options that would work.

Maybe I should not laugh, but "the Satan Channel"? I wonder if Jon Stewart knows or Stephen Colbert. There are atheist conservatives. I'm sure they are not fans of the comedy channel. I wonder what they call Comedy Central. I'm a liberal and I had a conservative friend. I tried to get her to watch "The Daily Show" but she never did. I think she probably saw the channel as being in bad taste.

In the scope of this conversation, "conservatives" means religious extremists.

I'm a Christian btw. Very few Christians have the same interests as me. They can't stand dirty words and mentioning body parts that were meant to be concealed by undergarments.

I agree. I meant it literally. Extreme shopping, extreme Buddhism, extreme competition, extreme eating. The middle way is more reasonable, healthy and available for everyone.

It is interesting that extreme Christians and extreme Muslims probably have in common a despising of South Park.

Your female co-worker sounds like she may pursue men who are unavailable so she does not have to be afraid of getting too close. If that is true, it could be the worst thing you could do would be to pursue her. Maybe, make sure she always has a way to contact you. If she pursues someone, she may feel strong, like a predator. If you pursue her, she may feel vulnerable, like prey.

She didn't give me any way to contact her outside of FB. This means I may never hear from her again.

The worst part is she took no responsibility for anything. To her, it's not her fault for fooling around with a married man, and it's not his fault for being jealous and controlling. To her, it's my fault for "commenting too much".

You both live in Houston, right? Does she have your phone number? Can she look at your facebook page? I'm not too familiar with facebook. do you have any friends in common?

there are people who tear through people's lives and are only preoccupied with themselves. some of them later think it through. it is difficult to guess what path she will take. if she is focusing on your "commenting too much", she may feel trapped easily. If her boyfriend were to get rid of his wife and be totally available, your female coworker might feel trapped and complain he is commenting too much.

this is why i am interested in behavior. i just don't get it. i get bits and pieces. i wonder if anyone gets it. maybe a lucky few, for whom it comes naturally.

my lack of sleep has me not thinking too well right now. i am hoping i will be sharper this weekend.

I looked up Adam Levine. He reminds me of the old HBO show "Oz" about life inside a prison.

There are so many people, I keep thinking there must be some with your interests or one of your interests. Do they have to live in your city? Is what you are looking for face-to-face?

Yes, they have to live here. I can't do another long-distance relationship.

But with this girl gone, the only way I will find the type of person I am looking for is if a whole slew of crazy draconian laws are passed that would essentially *force* someone to be that person.

You met her at work. Maybe, if you work or volunteer, you can meet someone who has one or more of your interests.

There's no way I can get her back as a friend. She's gone forever.
