Nice to meet you, fellow toe-walker.
I have read stuff online about how toe-walking is often related to cerebral palsy..I never concidered myself to be one with that...But it was never addressed by anyone, and I don't know what mild cerebral palsy is like.

i have also read that toe-walking can be reltaed to ASD..etc..as well..I have concidered it to be one of the ways in which i am different from your average ADDer..

There were some odd things about be when I was born..
I was born over a month late, but I was very small..just 5 lbs
My mom said the doctor, wanting to get it over with, yanked me out with forceps..I am sure it was a bit more formal than that, but that is how she described it.
Perhaps some damage ensued during that time has something to do with my toe-walking.

AND..i have autistic spectrum stuff in my family....or at least there are people in my family with very strong symptoms..that are not diagnosed, because of their deep skepticism of the medical industry..etc...

PLS, welcome.

Glad you mentioned yoga -- despite a few difficulties you have with some postures. I've found it great for stretching and balance, not to mention relaxation. I wanted to point out that the relaxation-within-a-group aspect of yoga is a great thing for all, but it might be an especially soothing and beneficial experience for Aspies to counter-balance the many stressful experiences within groups!

Toe-walking/odd gait. From what I've read here on the WP as well as what I've seen in Aspies I know, your gait is an AS trait -- shared by lots of other Aspies, although certainly not all. Hard to say if the forceps had anything to do with it, but I think you've found your people. :-)

I walked on the tips of my toes for most of my childhood. That caused a great deal of beration from other children, sadly. It took a long time to stop it, and even now I still have difficulty with walking gracefully, so I understand what you're going through.

poopylungstuffing - that's a great username!! !! And, when I was a child, I used to walk on my toes too, all the time. I had to be trained to walk properly. As a consequence of my toe walking, my toes are permanently curled up. Anyhoo, welcome to WP :-D

I have..how-you-say prehensile toes? They are long and spread out and I can pick stuff up and write with them...not very legibly though.

Welcome! You were here on WP before me, but who really cares about details like that?

I'm gonna have to see about getting an Organ Failure CD..... I rather like the sound! I like music, but I don't often "add" new albums or artists to the stack. I enjoy the unusual.... you folks really fit the bill! I am also obsessed with fantastic creatures and paganism.... your subject matter is very appealing!!
