I'm 49, and I was diagnosed just a few years ago, after years and years of believing in my childhood misdiagnosis of what they used to call "hyperactivity." In all honesty, I had begun suspecting I was an Aspie after my daughter was diagnosed as autistic five years ago, which spurred me on to get myself diagnosed. If anything, knowing I'm an Aspie has given me peace of mind, and has helped me make sense of my life.
Incidentally, I am also a father (obviously, as I have a daughter
), and have a beautiful wife.
