In the US, there's a chain of "dinner theatre" places known as Medieval Times. They do jousts there.

They probably also do them in various Renaissance Faires.

That would be a long way to go. Leeds (Royal Armory) would definitely be easier to get to and I'd be home in the same day. :D

LOL....I'm afraid to even get up on a horse. It emanates from a childhood trauma, wherein I feel off a horse and broke my elbow when I was 8. I was at camp, and the counselors thought I was being "chicken," so they made me get right back up on that horse, who threw me again.

People just don't know me too well LOL

I was about 8 the only time I've ever been on a horse. I looked down decided it was a long way and insisted on getting off. I don't remember being called a chicken (a benefit to being female maybe) but I do remember being very sure that I did not belong on a horse. I also forced them to shut down the dodgem cars so that I could get off in the middle of a go which thoroughly embarrassed my sister. Clearly if I'm scared I have no embarrassment.

That was probably very smart LOL. You were smart enough to know that horseback riding really wasn't for you. And what benefit would it provide for your future?

I used to go horseback riding (known as "horse riding" in the UK) afterwards----but there always was a dread about me doing it, and I tried to avoid it as much as possible. I never got beyond a trot; if a horse galloped, I absolutely panicked.
