Thank you for the welcome, Social_Fantom. Are the North Carolinians largely unrepresented in these boards? I have been in NC for 20 years and I really like it here. I've heard that Wake County is a great area to be if you have a child on the spectrum or if you are on the spectrum yourself. My almost 5 year old is HFA/AS and I will soon find out if the public school system is as great as I have heard. So far I must say that the people I have had dealings with in the Early Intervention department have been open to my opinions/theories/ideas regarding my son and his way of being - I hope it stays the same as he grows as I don't want him to feel as though he is broken and needs mending in order to be like the other kids. He is who he is and I'm here to help him find his happiness in Life. I'm probably babbling (allergy meds tend to make me a little loopy).
Anyways, thanks for the welcome and I am certain that I will enjoy my time here.

It's part that and the fact there are not a lot of us on here. Of course, some members don't disclose where they live. There could be a hundred of us on here that don't reveal where they live. I had never heard that about wake county, but I live all the way in Surry County in western NC. Where I live is a terrible place to be in the spectrum, as far as I can tell I'm the only aspie out here.
