A person for whom a serene internal environment is not only uncommon, but undesirable. Also, a person for whom their own feelings and the expression thereof are the most important things in the world.

i'm not glorifying cutting, i don't cut anymore, and i think it's a serious problem, that is just how you tell an emo, they have to know the "way of cutting" or they are not emo, so just leave it be.

Being emo means being free, baby. Emo is freedom. It's freedom from things like having to choose whether you want dress like your average Slayer head or your average Marilyn Manson fan. It's freedom from things like restrictions! Restrictions on what, you may ask? How about razor blades. A lot of positive movement has come from the emo collective in terms of making razor blades more readily available for every man, woman, and child in the united states. Being emo means that you get to decide. That's right, you choose. What kinds of things do you choose? How about the perfect haircut to go with your new Spongebob Squarepants duds for starters. The 'Bob (as I like to call it) is an awesome show that teenagers love in a sort of ironic fashion. Emo means choosing what kind of non-denominational religious symbol goes around your neck. It means getting the perfect glasses even though you don't even need glasses, but you want 'em because they make you "just nerdy enough."
