A Forum for aspies from India
food and have the women cook. How do men find something eat in India if they have cant cook for themselves.
You are right most parents here in US want their kids to find love while being in college But I suggesting there are also parents in US that want their kids only to focus on school not love too.
Since you have been on WP and have talk to some us maybe younger then you. Have you felt this charged from talking to all us " young people"

Before marriage the mother does the cooking, and after marriage the wife. Only if the wife is working full time, the husband needs to learn to cook. Some of the men also learn cooking as a hobby.
The average age on WP is around 20 years. Some of the young people here are real inspirations for me.

its seems like the role of who cooks is simliler to America. i guess America and India are alike in way. i whould think chores are almost simlier in these different contires households too( if am worng correct me). women normally clean and do household jobs around the house, cook. while outside men have outside chores and normally the breadwinner of the house, and head of house. even though in America women can have equially pay and jobs and her pay might be higher then her husband. it whould still seems men can automaniclly be the head of house.
am curious in what way and how did many of us inspiraed you am sorry if I sound kind of nosey.

Of course we'll help you with that! Besides that you can also learn a lot from wikipedia and other sites. There's a lot of information available on the internet these days.
Along with other countries, I also read a lot of stuff about India. It helps me to find out what I didn't know before, and remember and appreciate what I had forgotten.

You're right. Since I started learning about America on the internet (it's everywhere on the net!), I have also felt that there are a lot of similarities between India and America. People of both countries are very proud of their country, but at the same time they're also very stupid. Sometimes annoyingly so.
It is nice to see someone who is also disturbed by forced gender roles. It's a worldwide thing. A working woman will also cook and clean, and outdoor jobs will be handled by men, also the thing about men being the breadwinners. It's very narrow-minded thinking. And in spite of my beliefs, I'm not able to change anything in my environment. People just assume that gender roles will be played the usual way. I'm not able to make them see my point, no matter what.
You're not being nosey at all, it's nice to talk about these things. I don't remember exactly how many, but there are many who have inspired me. The ones I remember include Alex Plank, Sabu, qfazeem, jhomes and you. But there are many others who, because of their simplicity, clarity, straighforwardness and fearlessness, have changed me from the raving idiot at the start of this thread, to a more sober and sorted out (I hope) person. Yes, young people have inspired me and taught me how to be better person, by being good examples themselves.

looking from back the early part of this thread it is Hard for me to imagined you as raving idiot. You seem so calm
i get the part of annoying, stupid, very proud part. i'll give you examples in america. becouse of our first amendments says something about free speech( there is nothing worng with free speech, i hugely support it.) but it seems protects some of the worest things at the same time. said like hate speech. and you have people saying very bad things about others and what we should do to them. and these poeople who say these terribale things say they are are protected by the 1st amendment. and sometimesyou have people not very open mineded about many things, happy i live in a state that alot more open mineded then other states.
am happy i am american but it seems like america going backwards in thinking, and not progressing. i think in different ways then most americans.
as i goting older and i want what most people want love. i will be married one day. I relize what my gender role will more likey be in married house. it will depend if i work long hours,( if thats case, roles may be shared in household chores) it more likey i will deal mostly with home chores and cooking. like almost everyone in the world but i wish too we had more equity in roles in household working ouside. i would love to do outside chores, as i like being out side.
i think i understand why it is so hard tell other about gender role probleam and fix it . the thing is when we are born and they figuire out are gender and they atuomanticly give us the
gender role. by giving us gender related toys, talk to us childern in way that is so calledd gender appropriate. and as we get older they give us gender related chores around the house( though i think these chores train us for are furture gender roles in life). then cuycle contintues when the child has childeren of there own and teaches the same thing to their kid and. same thing tought over and over agian each generation. i thik thats way it hard tell
others this is kind of worng. becouse this is what they know. the only way to get rid of roles is to breck it.
i was not trying to be very narrow-minded thinking. just pointing out what i noctied in my life. not others
am so glad we younger people were alot of help to you. i guess we have more then one angels . questuestion were are the others on this theard? i think we need more indian aspies and more those with some kind of indian hertage, and others who love india. anyways how is the blog going. i told my friends who work with autism about your blog. they whould love see it and myself. everyone from different countries but mostly you from India on wp has inspired me. i begian the understand true great power of the internet, how it connects all of us. and what it has tought me about how other really live around the world and I have met others who I whould never meet on the street.

I am so happy I fond this forum!! !
I am half Tamil, and Half American, and I didn't realise that there were self aware aspies in india!! ! That makes me happy, because now I know India is moving in a positive direction socially if there are forums like this, and also I can relate to Indians now on a different level than I do with many of them currently, in a way that is much more beneficial. Also, I am happy to find a forum to express and discuss my heritage!
Hello swerve. In answer to your question, they DO have the internet there, but the way they use it seems to me akin to a 3 year old with a playstation 3, where they just press a bunch of random buttons and think they are so cool. The subversiveness of the internet will take a long time, because subversiveness does not really exist in Indian culture!

Welcome to the India thread.
Am about 50% black, 35% Indian and 15 % white. So i am mix. And I am also an autism advocate.
Are you from america too. It nice to meet you. But you might want ask Dhawal about awareness in India. He is from India

No no, I meant the other people have narrow-minded thinking, not you! I think I got misread, yet again

Yes, the only way to stop the gender role cycle is to break it.
About freedom of speech - I believe that if there is true freedom of speech, if everyone respects the other person's opinion, eventually the hatred would die out. I have seen it happen in youtube comments, and it can happen in the real world.
The blog - I haven't started it yet

Edit : You finally crossed over my number of posts. You've made more posts on WP in 4 months, than I have made in 5 years ! !

I'm glad that we found you

Umm, subversiveness and internet. I really didn't get the connection.
Also don't you think the '3 year old with playstation 3' comment is a bit rude? After all, most people on this thread are from India!

The blog - I haven't started it yet . It is not as big as starting an organisation, but it is still a responsibility. And I don't want it be like, there is one post, and then for several months there isn't anything. I want to figure out a little bit, what kind of things I would write about. If the blog starts to have followers, it would be bad to keep them waiting after a first few posts.
Edit : You finally crossed over my number of posts. You've made more posts on WP in 4 months, than I have made in 5 years ! ![/quote]
(Sighs) puts her hand to het face. I done it again, how silly of me.
Let's hope this happens, I think people would be more united if we repected each others differences. But the good news is that there are more people who disprove of hatred then those who vebal hatred. So it will die out.
Starting a blog is huge within it own self. You are right there is so much planing and responsibility in this. I thought of even starting my own too. Becouse I need to become an official independent advocate as I thought about moving from my current city and I won't possible be able to help advocate with my friend anymore couse of distance. I will be still part of the autism society so I can gain some backing so I can more gain speaking
arrangements with own independent self ( remember how I told you, I should maybe
move to riverside. I might more possible do it)
I don't know if this is good thing or bad thing, me making so many post in such a short time. I been on winter break from college( but now am back in school.) and I don't have a job so I really don't have much to do and I really enjoy being on WP.
Ha ha I guess I spoke to soon about were is everyone on thread. I hope they come back. They sounded pretty excited about this thread

Initially they sound excited, but in time the excitement fizzles out. Maybe they don't really believe that we can help out each other through the internet.

Well am gald someone is interested in my love life

. Some people ( I mean they see it but don't know how to answer( I do noticed changes to the number of views) and just read them or there is others who are active members who answer this thread before but don't come back ( this i don't understand this but like you said before they lose excitement, maybe this thread could not give them what they are looking for. .

forums with with there own question threads. But put the different questions in this thread instead. We might need to get people who are just looking though this thread to answer the different questions so they won't feel so shy and
come out as some people don't know how to come into an conversation and what to say.
Hopefully the new person who just anwered yesterday will come back

but we should think of ways to bring others here to write. As we can't force them.
