Plans for the future?
my ultimate goal is to finish school, and get my degree in psychology. I want to end up working as a child psychologist, with an emphasis on early detection and treatment of special needs in young children.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): Few weeks ago. I have had a suspicion that I might have AS (or something similar) for several years but there was no one to confirm that.

Favorite music: Vangelis, Dead Can Dance, Clint Mansell, Mike Oldfield, REM, Moby, Brian Eno.

Why are you here? I am here because I have Asperger's syndrome, and it's something that nobody notices immediately until they get to know me. They are always so amazed when they find out because they never would have guessed that something was wrong.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): When I was 2; I was showing signs of autism, seeing as how I couldn't talk coherently until I was 5.

Favorite subjects: History, Politlcal Science, Sociology, Philosophy

Year/Grade: 3rd year in college

Favorite music: Most anything; in particular, progressive rock/metal, Christian/worship/Gospel

Books: Most history books (I say "most" because no two history books, even about the same subject, are alike), suspense fiction

TV shows/Movies: Comedy and action/adventure.

Instrument: I played flute, trumpet, and tenor saxophone throughout school, and now play piano and guitar here and there.

Do you like sports? I like football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and auto racing.

Family: I have a divorced mother, a married sister who is 19, and a brother who is 7. There's something wrong with each of us, I've noticed: my sister has a speech impediment, and my girlfriend thinks my brother has ADD, which I don't doubt.

Clothing: I've had a recent clingyness to clearance racks at department stores, for some reason.

Job: I'm in college now, majoring in history, and I also work at a Walmart as a cart-pusher.

Plans for the future? Graduate from college, find a job, hopefully not Walmart; I eventually want to go to graduate school, earn a master's and doctorate, and be a professor.

Why are you here? tired of being misunderstood everywhere else

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): early 00s. note: i am an innumerate aspie, not a maths aspie- yes, we do exist in small numbers. also have Stendahl's Syndrome

Favorite subjects: see "Hobbie and Interests" - LEAST favorite subjects: maths, religion, athletics/phyical culture.

Year/Grade: too blessed old for school, completed tech school

Favorite music: most older stuff [70s and earlier, back to the 20s], isolated stuff from more modern times- definitely no "urban contemporary" [you can guess what that is]

Books: i read one once in a while, NEVER any fiction. don't ask me why i then watch movies which are mostly fiction- i can't explain with any brevity here

TV shows/Movies: news programs, documentaries, blue state only. last movie that affected me was "hedwig and the angry inch"- before that, "AI- artificial intelligence"- before that "the crying game"

Instrument: percussions, console [home] organ [after a fashion]. not especially talented, more like clutzy. wish i had talent to play wurlitzer theatrical pipe organ [the ones you see in some pizza places]

Do you like sports? totally lacking the sports gene. seems to me as futile a human endeavor as politics [in all its guises]

Family: no ancestors living- i live within 15 miles of my older sister. we get along.

Clothing: mostly a bathrobe, scrub bottoms and fuzzy slippers [i don't get out much]- sweats, mesh tank top and windbreaker on the few excursions i make into my little town for groceries and such

How did you find this website? stumbled upon it, looking for common ground with SOMEBODY [even just one person] on this earth

Job: unemployed bum with inheritance and some savings from toiling in civil service/military for 20+ years- i don't dare call it "retirement"

Plans for the future? make it to the end of this lifetime in one piece, enter heaven. never was especially ambitious, as all my best-laid plans usually crapped-out [note to website censor- term NOT used to refer to elimination]
