mine came from a few different influences, one being dragons, one being that snapdragons are one of my very favorite flowers even though they always always die like 2 weeks after I plant them, but mainly because I have a tendency to snap at people verbally and to just sort of snap emotionally and I thought maybe other people here would understand that better than people in the world at large.

This all begins in grade 6...

We were supposed to make up a nation, government, etc.

I got 100% on the projet, and my nation was Pythogria. Yay extra credit-- I wrote out an entire book of laws.

I signed up on an internet RP as that nation, and left it later. Pyth has stuck with me ever since.

Message comes from the song 'Message' by Coldplay. I can't explain it other than the song makes me feel so much that I swear I am going insane. Or maybe I'm just simply insane. Something about the song stirs something in me. And the title just stuck with me as something that had great meaning.

I've been a big fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000 since grade school and I picked this name (my first name is James) for some multi-player game merely for temporary use years ago. In retrospect I probably would have picked something more clever but for since I couldn't think of anything at the time...

Mine is a reference to my last name. Some of my friends started calling me it and I adopted it. I now use it for everything on the Internet, RPG's, IM's and occasionally in the real world.

Mine is my favourite space ship from the Ian M Banks novels. It is huge, I mean realy big, like 100Km long and 40 high and can travel at 60,000 times the speed of light in hyperspace by connecting to the energy grid which holds space time together.

It is sentient, with a mind which weighs something like 10,000 tones but exists in a hyper spacial state in an elipsoid about 10 meters long. It has a fascination with pain...ways of inflicting it, ways of experiancing it. It investigates old wars from various cultures accross the galaxy. It likes to probe the minds of alien species using it's effectors, to get information on wars or to punish them for them - which is frowned upon by it's fellow ships, so they nick named it the meat fu**er.

I'm also a bit unsure about all this AS thing, I think it's a bit of a grey area........ :D

PS - I reccomend the Banks 'Culture' Novels - best SF in the world I promis you!

Tom Servo was my favorite character on MST3K.

I miss Phil Hartman. Can't believe it's been 8 years already.

I needed an original username for Battle.net to play StarCraft online, and I decided to make up a fantasy name, and got Ganurath. Random, eh?

I'd been toying with the idea of DrowningMedusa as a name for an all girl band, but found that it was never used for anything (ie: email IDs, usernames...) so that's just what I always use now... I have no idea how I came up with it though, just two words that sounded good together and weren't completely absurd.
