When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): They've not diagnosed me, although they first suspected AS in 2003. I refused to go through with it.

Favorite subjects: Arts & crafts, English literature

Year/Grade: I'm working

Favorite music: Ska, musicals & instrumental piano

Books: Horror or comedy

TV shows/Movies: I'm a HUGE fan of The X-Files... I also like Dexter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pushing Daisies, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, House, Scrubs & more

Instrument: I can play a bit of piano

Do you like sports? Not at all.

Family: Living with my fiancée, I'm very close to my mom, brother & nephew (my mother and brother probably have undiagnosed AS as well, my brother is being diagnosed)

Clothing: Normal? I like shirts and black suit pants. Or pantsuits.

Hobbies and Interests: I play, listen to and analyze music. That's the biggest part of my life right now. However, I have interest in cooking.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): When I was 12 or 13. I have a crappy memory, but those ages feel about right.

Favorite subjects: Music, Science and Language

Year/Grade: Year 5

Favorite music: Sigur Ros and Morrissey.

Books: I don't read very many books, when I do it's usually a musical composition or a zombie book. :D

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch TV.

Instrument: I love playing bass. In every sense and form.

Do you like sports? Not at all.

Family: I have my Mother, whom I love very dearly. My sister and I have a twin-like relationship, and we look a lot the same. We also share a lot of the same thoughts and often find ourselves feeling exactly the same. I have my step brother, who I dislike the most out of my family. I have a stepsister who rarely comes as she likes being at her mother's a lot. And I have my stepfather, who I am getting closer to every single day.

Clothing: I usually just wear shorts and a t-shirt when I'm home, usually swimming trunks, because I hate underwear. I wear boxers. :D I have no fashion sense.

Hobbies and Interests: Like, special interests? History, literature, and pinnipeds. I also like knitting and writing.

Why are you here? My neuropsych said I should try to socialize with other people on the spectrum. I've got Asperger's and ADD. (Perhaps the fact that I had to think for a bit to realize you were probably also asking what I had helps prove it). I'm also bipolar.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): 19 with NVLD, 20 with Asperger's.

Favorite subjects: Again, history and literature. Anthropology. Creative writing.

Year/Grade: Not technically in college but taking college classes anyway 'cause I'm a masochist who wants to learn.

Favorite music: Acoustic.

Books: The Lordof the Rings, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, the Vorkosigan Saga, the Oxford Book of English Verse.

TV shows/Movies: Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, Life on Mars, Prime Suspect, Yes Prime Minister, the Games, Spooks, Leverage, Babylon 5, Doctor Who, Burn Notice, Firefly, the Addams Family, Ashes to Ashes, Dollhouse, the Wire, New Tricks, Foyle's War.

I like TV but not movies.

Instrument: Piano, guitar, and I sing professionally.

Do you like sports? I like watching soccer and gymnastics. I swim and would play soccer if my asthma and bad knees let me.

Family: Big and conflicted. I have three siblings and a father who I'm mostly on good terms with, and a mother who I'm off and on with. Right now, unfortunately, the big conflict is my diagnosis.

Clothing: I would love to have the patience to dress up nicely every day. But mostly I just wear a teeshirt and a skirt.

How did you find this website? Word of mouth, I guess. I had heard somewhere that this is the place to go if you're on the spectrum.

Job: None at the moment. My last one was sales on a commission basis, which SUCKS if you're on the spectrum because it's all about talking people into buying your stuff.

Plans for the future? Graduate college (HAHAHAHA – erm), go to grad school, work in an NGO.

Hobbies and Interests: Reading, writing, Greek Mythology, Music (I love pretty much all kinds, but usually not country. cept tayor swift, I love her.) movies, video games and lots more.

Why are you here? To talk to some other people like me.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I was diagnosed with ADD in 1997. But I really have Aspergers. My mom figured it out back in 2002 or so. I haven't been officially diagnosed with it, but I fit the criteria almost perfectly. And ADD medicine never worked for me.

Favorite subjects: History, Science, Astronomy, creative writing

Year/Grade: Graduated High school

Favorite music: Indie rock mostly

Books: Twilight saga (I know! okay, I know! leave me alone I LOVE them!), The Odyssey, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the list goes on and on, I'm a bookworm.

Instrument: I really want to learn to play piano

Do you like sports? Sometimes, I love the olympics and swimming, I can really get into football if im with others who like football.

Family: My mom and dad, and my step mother and little step sister who is more like a sister, i love her.

Clothing: I love fashion but I prefer the basics. Jeans a Tee and a hoodie and chucks.

Why are you here?
Aspergers and ADHD

When were you diagnosed?
ADHD: when I was about 12-13, AS: when I was 20.
I refused to cooperate during testing, did not talk to them and so on, so they basically gave me the adhd diagnosis based on what the school told them. It's a shame, really.

My parents suspected AS, but nobody listened to them. Finally, after several years, my mom got me convinced to see a spesialist. Almost immediately he said to me: "I think you have something called Aspergers syndrome......"

After i got the correct diagnosis, my life has been a lot easier!

I had selektiv mutism when I was little, (not severe).
