I think a lot of people do. I don't talk to hardly anyone but I thought both were quite popular. Maybe it is popular with a population that is a little edgy not straight laced. Like the one person I do talk to would be horrified by South Park.

Very few women in my area like the Simpsons and South Park. It's not like we're New York or San Francisco. Every other building here is a church.

I get my view of the world through TV. Giving it some thought, I realize I assume, based on the computer and TV and not from talking to people. I thought many people on WP liked both the Simpsons and South Park. Maybe some live in your area.

There were about 30 on here at one time, about 6-7 years ago. Now there are very few, none of which live anywhere near Houston.

And the girl from work was very fickle. One day, she said she really enjoyed talking to me, and the next, she would act like I didn't exist. She said she was "too busy" to talk to me, but apparently not too busy to look at pics of scantily clad male models. Usually if a woman looks at pics of male models (especially as obsessively as she did), she will only date people who look like those models, even if they are abusive and manipulative. If the shoe were on the other foot, and I was "too busy to talk", but was really looking at pics of lingerie models, I guarantee you she would have gone ballistic.

Wow. I don't know. Could you develop an interest in something that has a decent number of people in Houston? Looking at your profile, home design is something I would think a lot of people are into. What about taking a course in each of the things you like? you could take courses in geography and urban planning. Comedy clubs might be too loud and chaotic.

Would any of those have clubs? I recently researched Bonsai plants. There are clubs all over the U.S. and the people are very passionate about it.

This has me very depressed :(

Especially since she was the type of person I wouldn't normally go for (single mother, not Christian, 10 years younger).

I can't sleep, and nothing will make me feel better. I was attracted to her not only because of the Simpsons and South Park, but because she was very physical attractive (I am kinda drawn to curvy Latina women as of late), she liked to read erotic fiction (another one of my interests), and liked to travel (it seems like these days, "encouraging people to travel" means dragging people out of Mommy's basement, kicking and screaming, away from their video games).

Furthermore, she liked to watch True Blood. I have never watched that show, but have considered giving it a try because Family Guy referred to it as "a show about naked vampires". Plus, while she was still a co-worker, she made a lot of sexual jokes. I didn't partake in the conversations because I was trying to be professional rather than socialize, but the jokes were clearly within earshot.

I came to the conclusion that she had a very high sex drive, based on some of the above-mentioned interests. Having a very high sex drive is a MAJOR requirement with any potential partner.

You should probably give "True Blood" a try.

I can see she would be difficult to replace. Hormones add a whole new dimension.

If I add all of those as requirements for a future partner (along with "close to my age", "Christian", and "doesn't have kids from a previous relationship but wants them in the future"), then I will never meet anybody.

There is truth to that but you are young and have a lot of years left to find someone. I keep thinking being places where you can increase your chances of meeting someone with those interests might make a big difference. Location, location, location.

#3 upsets me the most


Welcome back Tim. I'm sorry to hear about your losses. Does the boyfriend have an open marriage with his wife? If not, then whether this girl is Christian or not, it does tell you a bit about the morality of this girl that she's willingly dating a man who's already married. I may be atheist but it doesn't mean that I think it's right to cheat on one's partner.
