It's exhausting. :(

That doesnt seem sustainable, we need imo to be more mindful/respectful of autistic energy...

I thought you had some kind of mellow potion that you were wafting about the forum, like when Pepe found a perfume that worked and Penelope almost magically became obsessed with him :D.

Have you got any mellow friends or enough chaps there willing to promote a stable tone for the place... less snipping and fighting amongst the boys for a start.

I mean when I first came here I didnt know the dynamics between particular members, or the prickly cactus like personalities, I didnt know if the sparring partners would turn on me next, so i didnt post anywhere there was perceived danger.

Even now the sparring types can turn on bystanders, so it's not an irrational fear.

I was actually joking.
I heard a lot about troubles in "Lovey Dovey Land", but I haven't seen anything that is concerning.

I have a theory.
Consider the toxic environment I came from.
Perhaps, by comparison, the tiffs in the "Luv" forum are inconsequential to me.

And I wish I had put it together sooner... oh well, better late than never eh.
Welcome to the club though, most people that are still here learned the same way as you. There is little to no coddling on this site and I like that, it means no one is the "special kid" here.

So another point to add, you cant delete your account, it's not possible, so consider your words carefully before you post.

As with anything you post on the internet it is there permanently even if its deleted from/moved off the public forums.

You can edit your post soon after posting it, but the window to do this is quite short, I cant remember exactly, about an hour would be a conservative guess, dont delay and come back to it later, if there is a chance you will regret it, I always think it's best to not post it.

You can delete your post for a short time too, but... only if no one else posts after you.
If you ever get stuck on how to do something eg quote another post, while participating in a thread, post your question, someone in the thread or reading it will answer you!

If the person that posted after you deletes their post, you can then delete your post also. ;)

Thank you @Amity. Your OP was helpful.

I've spent a couple days looking around and using the WP Search function (it's an internet search; not a WP Forum only search...darn). I'm looking for a couple of specific things and am hoping someone can help me find my way.

1) Regarding that RDOS.net "Aspie Quiz"
- is there some place that explains what "below average", "average", and "above average" means for the various question groups (ie. "Neurodiverse Talent", and etc)?
- In other words, what would some hypothetical "wholly neurotypical" person typically get for a score range in each group?

2) Regarding that Simon Baron-Cohen, Cambridge’s Autism Research Centre "Autism-Spectrum Quotient" Quiz
- I understand the cut-off was raised from 26 to 32 to avoid false positives for autism. But is there some line graph or explanation key that indicates what any given number means as far as "how autistic" one is and, perhaps, some description of what one might experience or observed to be within any given score range?

I have a question. On the parents/school/teen section if I may have advice for parents or teens based on my own experience but I am not a parent or teen would I be allowed into these sections to possibly post and respond or not because I do not fit these categories.

Thank you

Yes of course you can post there :) ... the only forums that are restricted are the age related forums eg +18 and perhaps the womens forum, though welcoming of respectful male participants, men are requested specifically to be sensitive to the topics and to keep the tone respectful. Sharing information and lived experiences can be very helpful for those seeking advice. :)

Hi INTJ185
If you feel comfortable starting two threads for separate topics, the General Discussion forum is your best bet for getting answers, Rdos was posting here recently so you might be in luck and get an exact answer for Q1 :D

Regarding the WP search function, I've found using google search with key words eg "Wrong planet Rdos quiz above average" to be a quicker way to search for old threads.

Alternatively I found this site a source of excellent information when I started to explore Autism: https://musingsofanaspie.com/2012/11/20 ... spie-quiz/

In this entry the author discusses the Aspie quiz and compares her autistic results to NT members of her family.

^Lol, league girl I dont know how the mods do it all...
Work, family, study and then moderate here without admin support with working conditions that are not accomodating of ASD, through the ups and downs... it doesnt exactly paint an attractive picture.
