What is your first name? Anthony

Age: 22

Location: Riverside, California

Hobbies and Interests: Math, Libertarianism, Business, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Economics,

Why are you here? To learn more about Asperger's, to socialize, and use the site as a therapeutic tool

When were you diagnosed? 22

Favorite subjects: Math, Economics, Finance, Business

Year/Grade: Senior in College

Favorite music: All types, but I especially like house, electronic, dubstep, metalcore, rock, and alt.

Books: Three books that have had a real impact on me are The Good Earth, Resistance to Civil Government, and Walden

TV shows/Movies: Pi, Beautiful Mind, DMT Spirit Molecule, Zeitgeist, UFOS Dan Akryod, more to come...

Instrument: Don't play one. But I experimented when I was a kid. I would love to learn an instrument. There are two reasons I haven't. One, I become narrowly obsessed with a particular topic such as math, and two, I became addicted to caffeine and it really screwed me up. I'm currently recovering.

Do you like sports? Hell yes. I love soccer. I used to play. I was really good at defending. I say "was" because I gained 40 lbs in 10 months due to medication.

Family: younger brother, older sister, mom, and dad

Clothing: Ya, I'm pretty poor so I'm not currently into fashion. My parent's aren't poor but I don't like asking them for money. Besides they help with my schooling so that's good enough for me.

How did you find this website? Google

Job: Unemployed student. Used to make pizza, worked for step-dad's company, and used to tutor at college.

Plans for the future? make lots of money and be a lady's man. Maybe use my math schools in business or teach at the college level.

Any comments?

Do you like sports? I don't know how to answer this question properly.

Family: mum, dad, younger brother

My name is Aaron

I'm 42 years old

I live in Darwin, Australia

All the usual aspie interests I guess (sci-fi, comics, computers, geology, quantum physics... lol) animal behaviour, social science, 'faking' normal behaviour, hanging out with friends.

Because I recently accepted my diagnosis after trawling through all the info I could find I realised I only had NT friends who 'get' me but...

Got a tentative diagnosis in '94 in Darwin followed by a Psychiatric diagnosis in '95 at the Maudsley in London... Now seeking a secondary psychiatric diagnosis to assauge my Father (very smart man who has worked with children all his life but got custody after I had reached puberty (I left home 4 years later)).

People and how they behave. Animals and how they behave, exploring anything that takes my fancy (which is anything really) and explaining to people that I don't do speculation and "I don't get that!" And I lovemaking people laugh (if I'm doing it, I can work out why...)

Failed every time I tried to study. I can do the readings and explain/teach others what they need to know but can't seem to maintain my interest once I've learned what I need to know to pass (university works too slow).

I like well written, well structured music... No mass-market pop-crap. Very eclectic tastes... I can talk about, explain, appreciate and understand thrash, death metal and other noise but have a hard time listening to it.

Hmm... non-fiction books (autobiographies and biographies I class in fiction due to the speculation and out-right self aggrandisement), hard Sci-fi and some fantasy (some poorly thought out natural superiority of noble birth sneaks in to fantasy at times). I also enjoy reading general literature... A suitable boy, The shipping news, The marabou stork nightmares, the english patient... I get, very much, swept away into the descriptions in books... and I lke the insight they give into human relations. Strangely enough I have given many NTs relationship advice, etc. that I can't, myself, follow?

Blade Runner is the movie I shared with my Mum before I moved O/S and with my Dad on arrival. My sibs were too young. My taste in books is my taste in movies. My taste in TV is more watching DVD series (I work nights). I prefer well scripted series with great acting and insight into humanity: The Wire, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Firefly. Of course, I'll watch Bones, Numbers, NCIS, and a fair few crime shows, as well as the occasional comedy, drama, etc (what ever my partner watches)

I'm not a big sports guy. I watch international Rugby Union with a demonstrative enthusiasm and can give a break down of a game, but if I miss a game I don't miss a game. I cycle as a mode of transport and lifestyle and have acquired the trappings of a cyclist to make it easier to chat wit other cyclists

I come from a broken home *sob.* There is my Dad, my stepmother (v. cool, smart woman... taught me how to dress), my sister, my brother, and two stepsisters. Numerous nephews and nieces. And Mum!

Practical... do Not where ostentatious logos. Prefer cargo pants, plain-tees and shoes that fit my duck feet. I'm known for my in-ear headphones and dark sunnies (Do Not like loud noise or bright light).

How did you find this website? ...How did I not?

Job: You name it!

Plans for the future? Huh? I don't do the future... Would like to tho'.

Any comments? It has been a wonder to read as many of your posts and feel the same rather than 35 odd years of difference... Thank you all so much!

What is your first name? Brent

Age: 26

Location: San Antonio, TX

Hobbies and Interests: Anime, Manga, Games, and Science

Why are you here? Ideas and tips to better manage my social life, while making friends that understand my situation.

Diagnosis?: there is no question that i have finally found the explanation to what i have known in my heart since 3rd grade. I am different. I spent countless tears over the alienation of an entire school. I spoke just like my grandmother.. and everyone loves her, it didn't make sense. ... later in school i found groups that were less likely to notice or judge my inability to socialize since they were usually on the edge of social norm themselves. the attempt at college and my history best friends and girlfriends outside of highschool has always ended the same... them leaving with no real reason. I will be consulting a professional for a diagnosis within the next two weeks. the professional diagnosis is for my family tho.. as i have no doubt.. that i have finally found myself.

Favorite subjects: Physics AP, Photography, Architecture

Year/Grade: studying to be a myotherapist .. finish in 2 months

Favorite music: My chemical romance, the used, NiN, SoaD, APC, TOOL, in flames, underoath, norma jean, AFI, 311, sublime, snow patrol, jack johnson (anything but country music)

Books: 1986, Fahrenheit 451, The Footprints of God, Sword of Shanarra trilogy, pheonix rising,

TV shows/Movies: cartoons, anime, anime, more anime, weeds, breaking bad, more anime, ....... then i switch it up with anime movies :)

Instrument: Percussion/ bass guitar

Do you like sports? no thank you

Family: lots of NT alienation from immediate family..

Clothing: whatever fits and doesn't make me feel old or cramped.

How did you find this website? through an article on "Psychology Today" over AS

Job: student/ server

Plans for the future? need to be re-evaluated now that i have a better understanding of what is going on.

Any comments? i feel like someone just gave me the password to my own Wi-Fi ...
