I think Duncvis has a good point. Veti, why have you made a replica of the thread already in existence? To everyone who already posted in the other thread: The questions in this thread are exactly the same as the first thread. So copying all your stuff from that thread, to this thread, is pointless, and a waste of space; completely contrary to what I believe Vetivert's purpose is in creating this new thread. If you have already posted, don't bother copying it over into this thread. Leave it clear for the new members to post to a clean new thread. Its only for readability purposes, I believe, that Veti has locked the other thread and created this one, to segment it into 2 threads than 1 gigantic thread.

What is your first name? Euisoo, but call me Michael if that is too hard to type/memorize :D

Age: 22

Location: Montreal, Canada

Hobbies and Interests: Anime, Movies, Computer, Games, Soccer (or Football in Europe), Go (Chinese chess)... etc etc...

Why are you here? I don't know... Just found this site today...

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I was not. But I am positive that I have AS.

Favorite subjects: Computer...Games...Soccer...

Year/Grade: University Undergrad.

Favorite music: I dont really listen to music, and when I do, its Korean Pop.

Books: Dont really read books... Well, I do... but then, none of them impressed me...

TV shows/Movies: Memento, The Game, etc etc...

Instrument: Used to play piano long ago... now, can't play any.

Do you like sports? Yes, baseball, soccer fan. Used to play back in the time... (And was actually not so bad)

Family: Mom/Dad/Sis.

Clothing: Classy :D

How did you find this website? Was reading Korean internet newspaper, and somehow, it had a link to this site.

Job: Student

Plans for the future? As soon as I graduate, I'll look for jobs. Make some money, become independent, then look for graduate schools. Girls? hmm Well, I'm not really looking for ones at the moment, but I believe that if I am destined to be with that girl, then she / I will find each other somehow without really looking.

Any comments?

my degree of AS is very mild, or is it because I'm older now and I just know how to cope with it? I don't know... I just am socially awkward, but not to an extent that I am afraid of meeting people... I do have some shyness with girls.

Sometimes, I wish I were more socially active... especially when all my friends go out with their girlfriends...
Then other times, I'm thankful that I am gifted in concentration and motivation. I Ace every class without too much effort while most of my friends struggle even with much more effort than me.

If anyone wants to talk to me, or just be internet-friends or anything, please PM me :D

*** edit ***

I forgot to mention that I was born in Korea, immigrated when I was 12.
Speaks perfect Korean, but my english isn't that good. (As you may have noticed with so many typos and wrong grammar)
I speak french too btw.

What is your first name? Leslie

Age: 42 (will be 43 on November 21)

Location: Lawrence, KS

Hobbies and Interests: Entertainment history, puppetry (especially the work of Burr Tillstrom of Kukla, Fran and Ollie, hence my name and avatar), history in general, learning, Reiki, astrology, pets, reading and sometimes politics.

Why are you here? I've been reading about Asperger's and think I belong.

When were you diagnosed? Self diagnosed

Favorite subjects: Right now - History, English

Year/Grade: I go to a local Community College (distance ed). Hopefully will graduate in the spring and possibly go on to four year in 2006.

Favorite music: Oldies, music '50s to '80s, with some '20s thrown in once in a while

Books: New Age books (right now i'm reading Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton) and movie star biographies (my latest is an old bio of Tallulah Bankhead)

TV shows/Movies: Don't watch alot of TV. Never miss The Daily Show, sometimes watch movies on
TCM and PBS or History Channel documentaries. My current favorite movie is "Good Night and Good Luck" about how Edward R. Murrow stood up to Joe McCarthy. I also liked The Corpse Bride.

Do you like sports? If so, which ones?: Don't care for team sports at all. Will indulge in a little bowling, but I don't seek it out.

Family: one beautiful cat named Angel.

Clothing: Whatever's clean and comfortable and *fits*, lol.

Job: Currently unemployed, concentrating on school. Am highly incompatible with big business and the idiots who run them (and some of the idiots who work for them too). My dream is to work in some type of library, preferably one that deals with film or entertainment.

What are you planning to do when you get older? I hope to win the lottery and spend my time traveling to film festivals. Maybe go live on a commune with others with Aspergers. If you need a Reiki practitioner who can draw up an astrology chart call me!

thanks for reminding me, danlo.

sorry, dunc - i forgot to reply, with everything else going on... :(

i locked the other thread along with the other threads i locked (there's probably some syntax in there...somewhere...), due to recent events.

and yes - people can still read the old thread, so you don't need to repeat any responses which are there.

sorry for any confusion.

and thank you, beulah witch. :)

and as soon as i can cut my "favourite music and books" down to less than infinity, i will post here - promise!

Eh, RobertN? It wasn't a criticism of Vetivert. Its just that people were copying their posts from the other thread to this one, and I just wanted Veti to clarify to them that they don't need to copy their posts from the old thread, to this one. And Veti, don't be modest. You're alright in my book.

I wish I had known about Asperger's 15 years ago -- everybody just thought I was weird. I saw the name of your site today on the morning news ... unfortunate connection ... but I HAD to check this out. I've been saying for ages now that I think the aliens need to do more research before they leave people like me here, and I wish they'd just halt this anthropological experiment and take me home!! People think I'm joking, but I honestly feel like that,; so much about humans just baffles me. It's especially bad in friendships, and especially frustrating to romantic relationships. I'm dating a guy now I really like, and he really tries, but he just does not get why I hate crowds, or get upset when our plans changew 'cause he's late, or he needs to punch holes in my ceiling to drain the water flooding in from my roof, or can't tell when he's upset or annoyed, or seem really upset but am not, or can't stop interrupting or appearing critical , etc. etc. Or think he really wants an anser to a question like "why doesn't a nuclear explosion burn off the atmosphere. He often thinks I just being willful and self-centered, or that my annoyance at things like radion playing while the TV is on means I'm destined to be unhappy every day. He does not understand that once I get to a certain level of irritation, I can't pull it back I may need to be alone even if I don't want to be alone, and it's not that I'm trying to punish him. Sometimes he's great, and sometimes I can't say or do the right thing no matter what. It's so frustrating.

Uh, oops, that impulsiveness thing got in my way and I skipped all of the questions. My names is Sara. I'm a 36 yr old punk originally and again from Florida (i've lived in Chicago too), I love books. George Alec Effinger's Budayeen stories, Ted Williams Otherland series, anything at all by Terry Pratchett, Peter Straub, or Colin Dexter. I like sci-fi, although not hard sci-fi usually, mystery (not big on procedurals), black humor. My books help me chill out and explain people to me. Weirdest hobby - collect information on exotic and really drastic diseases (anybody else follw the recent Marburg outbreak?) I paint, somteimes professionally. I live with three cats, because I get cats (as Pratchett's Death says, when asked "What is life all about: "Cats. Cats are nice.") I frequently talk too much. I used to write a lot, sometimes professionally, sometimes for prizes, but I don't much now. I like cryptic Crosswords and growing thins, and making things. I have never been able to make my life fit in the forms -- I'm always the outside exception. I went to UF when I was 16 and graduated three years later. I was only diagnosed last year -- finally -- after many sort-of diagnoses of depression, personality disorder, and have seizures that I think are related. It's like my brain throws a circuit breaker. I don't have a job. I like punk, and blues, and Celtic music, and some classic stuff like T. Rex. Probably this is way more than anyone wanted to know, and not enough of what you did need to know. I would like to hear from y'all, especially adults, and especially strategies you've developed for comprehending and interacting with humans -- especially perfectly normal people who inexpicably like or love you despite finding you intesely aggravating. [email protected] , would be best -- I'm not great about checking the peoplepc address

Hmph! Well then, another resident witch! Is YOUR hair green? *tips some water on you and watches if you melt*

Oh well, I SUPPOSE I can learn to live with another witch... I'm SURE she can't make newts HALF as good as Vivi can... just so long as no one trys to replace ME with another kitten! Hmph!

(P.S. No offense BeulahWitch: I suck at accepting change, but I'm sure I will get used to you just so long as you don't replace my Vivi!)

What is your first name? Aaron

Age: 20

Location: Bathurst, Australia

Hobbies and Interests: Computers, music, anime, poetry, songwriting, motor racing.

Why are you here? To talk to fellow aspies.

When were you diagnosed? Haven't been officially diagnosed yet... self-dxed at 16 though.

Favorite subjects: Computers, Music (the practical side), Japanese.

Year/Grade: Second year university student

Favorite music: Anything with meaning. Specifically, anything by Three Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Alice Cooper, Staind, Frenzal Rhomb, among many, many others.

Books: "The Lightstone" by David Zindell, and the Harry Potter series, as well as the 5-book Hitchhiker's Trilogy.

TV shows/Movies: House, 24, Monk, Full Frontal, The Big Bite, Whose Line is it anyway. Movies: Harry Potter 1-3, The Day Before Tomorrow, Independence Day, Robots, Shrek 1-2, A Bug's Life, and pretty much anything made by Disney, Pixar and Blue Sky.

Instrument: My bad-ass $AUD120 acoustic guitar. I'd like to learn the accordion one day, just for a lark.

Do you like sports? Used to be into Australian Rules, but got annoyed at how often fights break out, and how violent those fights become. If motor racing is counted as a sport, then that's the only sport I follow these days.

Family: 2 brothers and 2 sisters, one half brother. My parents split up in '92, so my half brother lives with my Mum and her hubby in Queensland.

Clothing: Whatever I pull off a neatly organised pile of shirts - I have two piles, a pile up the back where shirts fresh from the wash go to, and a pile up the front that is replenished by the rear pile when the front one runs out... this way I cycle my shirts - and a pair of shorts - or a pair of tracksuit pants in the winter, as well as a jumper with a hood - gotta have da hood!

How did you find this website? Someone pointed me to the article with the interview with Bram Cohen and I realised the site was for people with Aspergers so I signed up and the rest, as they say, is history.

Job: Shelf stacker at Big W (Aussie version of Walmart)

Plans for the future? Get out of my parent's place, get married and have a lot of kids!

Any comments? Alex and the guys here have done a top-rate job with the site. Keep up the work! Once I get some money I can get to you guys, I'll throw it your way (no access to PayPal :()

No, not replacing anyone, I think there's room in the world for lots of Witches. No green hair, here's my pic:

http://users.ultinet.net/~kfo/buelahp.html (actually that's the real Beulah Witch. I'm just a wannabe from Kansas) From what I understand, she was more into Outer space travel and drag racing than making newts. I can't make newts. My kitty might eat them.

I was going to say that your avatar looks alot like my kitty Angel if she was green instead of white...
