Plans for the future: Find permanent living space, fix brain. Attend college, make creative stuff, or find a good job. A girlfriend would be nice. I don't bet on it, though.
We live close by apparently.

How did you find this website? I believe I typed in 'aspergers forum' on google.
Job: I work in a call center. It really sucks. I'm currently trying to get another job but it's hard because I get extreme anxiety when it comes to interviews and I always seem rigid because I can't seem to determine how professional is too professional. I feel like I'm too pretentious because I thought that's what they wanted.

I also would like to go to school for Mortuary Science but I have to move before I do that because they don't offer that program in the town that I live in and as far as I've seen, don't offer courses online. I guess you can't really embalm someone online.
Any comments? I'm really glad for this website. I've never been able to relate to people like I can when I get on here. It helps me understand myself better and how to best arrange/live my life.

Books? Most reading is online these days. Occasional newspaper or magazine. In the past, read a lot of Orwell, Huxley and Ancient Greek/Latin authors.

Do you like Sports? Interested in the "politics" of football ("soccer"). Too disillusioned to actually watch the game.

Plans for the future? Physical and mental survival. Become a little less cynical. Meet an interesting and thoughtful aspie woman, or even a very understanding NT one (have met plenty of the other sort).
Any Comments? Not tonight, Josephine.

im completely ok with people messaging me if they want to chat or anything
Hi everyone, let me introduce myself; I have already started to post, quite typical for me to remember down the road that I forget to mention who I am, ah well, so here we go:
I am female, married, in my fifties, no children, and literally living in the land of Oz
Hobbies and Interests? spreadsheets, reading, music, silence (order depends on the day I am having)
Why are you here? Find out how fellow travellers cope with living in this strange environment
When were you diagnosed? Knew since forever, youngest sister, nephew and niece all diagnosed as Gifted & Aspergers, I'm too old though to be officially diagnosed. Did all available tests over time (have Masters in Special Ed. etc), all with same outcome - can I quote DeepHour here? "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's probably a duck." I'm definitely a duck.
Favourite subjects? All of them! Loved school/learning, went to teachers college just so I could continue!
Year/Grade? Hihihi
Favourite Music? Classical, 60s, 70s and some 80s, ABBA, Nana Mouscouri, some Beatles, some BeeGee's
Books? Ecclectic, non-soapy historical fiction (e.g. Brother Cadfael series)
TV Shows?Movies? Yes Minister/Prime Minister (prefer 'verbal' shows, action of secondary interest), How I met your mother (love the friendship component), Elementary (there's lots of me there even though I am female). Not too keen on movies, prefer books so I can check the ending (life is unpredictable enough!)
Instrument? Guitar, recorders (various sizes), elementary level piano, none of them currently active
Do you like Sports? Must be aesthetic and/or non-violent, love watching ice-skating, ballet, gymnastics, Roger Federer, cricket, again, currently not practising any of them
Clothes? Tend to stick predominantly with one colour for extended periods of time, must be warm and soft, with all labels removed immediately after purchase (they scratch!)
How did you find this website? Cannot remember, but probably by accident/providence
Job? Nurse (Intensive Care premies through to aged-care), Teacher (Preschool through to Adults), SEN Specialist, SEN Manager, IT Consultant, finally burn-out . . .
Plans for the future? Try to be more attentive to and patient with self and others, also become confident enough to finally stop all that NT acting
Any Comments? Due to very evident social inadequacy mostly avoiding anything that exceeds casual encounters, spent my life wistfully watching people around me seemingly effortlessly making and keeping friends . . .
