Who knows? Unfortunately, as much as w'd like to, the past is perpetually out of reach, in order to change. We can only read or look at what little we have..... :(

:( I can tell you in all honesty, that when a person has the desire to commit suicide, they are thinking only of themselves and many times truly believe that the people that love them would be better off without them. I knew I was loved, I knew I was needed, but it made the reasons to do it make more sense. I know that makes no sense, it makes no sense to me 13 years later. I don't think you could have done anything to change it.

( I got help before I actually tried it! Thank goodness!!)

There can be times when the pain is so intense that all you can do is think about escaping the pain. Reasons or "others" have no bearing on it.

And you have an Iphone and other gadgets to show for it!

How do you like the Iphone now that you've had it for a few days? I've heard good things and bad things.

So far it is working out pretty good for me, when you buy an iPhone you have to activate at home via iTunes.
I had iTunes on my PC but never used it.....
When I tried to activate my account I had to get the newest version of iTunes and then open an account with Apple,
then I was able to activate, The iPhone replaces one of my old cell phones as I already have an account with at&t,
if I need a more advanced phone I'll get either an Open Moko or an HP iPaq
and simply take the SIM out of my Samsung phone and use it one of those. The Open Moko and the iPaq are "unlocked" phones
so if I"m traveling abroad I can buy a SIM card locally that is tied to a pre-paid cellular service. Having two cell phones tied to
one account is cheaper than maintaining both a cell account and a land line. And I'm not bothered by tele-marketers.

I have the goodwill version of the IPhone. . the tracfone! I only turn it on on the weekends and listen to the voice mail . I pay for it when I need it and always have that anachronism, the personal phone number. Someone complained that "I was never there, they always had to leave messages." I really didn't understand, isn't a phone for my convenience? mmm. . .even my faulty nt adaptation filters tell me this opinion is probably not seen as a gracious social gesture, but it makes me shake my head to be obligated to follow the culture of where I find myself existing.
But then I am on the phones approximately 38.75 hours a week, two lines, often conferencing in two or three people in one call. Facilitator, taker of control of the conversation to lead it where my nimble or stumbling mind would go to solve mysteries, and figuratively cross t's and dot the i's that others have knocked off the edges of other social/business transactions so they can be processed and finally delt with.
my complete social life is spent being my most polite to strangers on the phone, so when it is on my dime I am some what less than pleased to not hear yourself fed back into your ear from using a headset. When I can't hear my voice, it's like I don't know what I am saying, so talking on a cell phone with out my voice resonating in my ear. It's like I can't hear what I am thinking.

so, Ritchie, my question about the iPhone. Does it resonate your voice back into your ear? Is it able to do that through ear buds or what ever? That would be cool.

You might be right.I use to have an eyebrow piercing(took it out for a job interview and it closed up in a few hours 8O )It was always getting caught on the towel threads when I dried my hair so I left it out....for now.I also wore nothing but camo's for years...very comfy and love all those pockets(in case I find a cool rock, piece of rusty metal, piece of bark).Lately I have been wearing nothing but pajama bottomes(have to remember to check for that crucial button though,as I go ala buff beneath and would be quit drafty). One thing I love about where I live is no one looks twice at me.No noticable sneering or smirking, polite MN,the worst insult here is..."Oh,my,that's....interesting",very subtle.

I took my left nipple piercing out for a mammogram once and could never get it back in. It bummed me out because I got it done in a ritural in downtown Minneapolis by just the nicest, kinkiest folks you could ever meet - for the long winters will cause you to develop your own entertainment.

I no no one here is very interested in the magazine but we are having a problem with the name.Inventor and Computerlover both like the idea of....."High Functioning".....I have some personal issues with it because "functioning" is subjective. Some days when I am functioning at my most creative are also the ones I forget to eat, cant answer the phone or get anything "normal" done. How high functioing I am depends on if your measureing what I create or if I make it to my doctors appointment.Compared to a lot of you here,I feel pretty low functioning.I could never imagine doing some of the things you do on a daily bases, compared to a friend who is in a "residence"...I can cook more and do my laundry(eventually)but he is a creative genius....completley "higher functioing" in his ability to retain information and make unique connections.

So....I dont like the title.

Today,I was trying to brainstorm some "concepts",most of them had something that didnt work for me.Then I went back to my own personal mantra about AS(and my disgust with the whole desire to turn ASers into NTers.).It is.......

Fish Are Not Broken Birds

but that makes for a rather combersom name....so I thought....

"Scales",with the "fish are not broken birds"beneath it.

The obvious "logo" would be some beautiful fish scales...

but then I was thinking of the concept of AS vs NT,how the two "weigh" what is more important to us.In general, there does seem to be some pretty important differences in this area.So...I was invisioning actual scales....like the kind held by the blind lady justice.....one side would have fish scales and the other feathers....but the picture would be that they weighed "even"(because I feel that they both have some positive and negative and only societys current structure values one set of traits over another).

So,anyone care to "weigh in" on this?(I love puns and word play,so I am probably being "not objective" on fixating on "Scales".

It isn't that so much as it goes back to a question I asked many many months ago. Is there anyone that is just blessed/cursed with being an aspie. I don't think there is such a thing as being, just an aspie. It doesn't exist. First we're raised by humans, strike 1. Then we have a condition known as AS, strike 2 (according to some). Then we have comorbids and you can't tell me for an instant that even 8 tenths of us know what they really are, strike 3. It's guess work, even by the pros, hell they change their minds all the time. They're rewriting the guidelines as we speak. Then we go through life with coping skills we develop, some work for a while some fail and the combinations of them, strike 4, they do shape us further. We all end up different and yet form this idea of a test tube aspie. It is just hilarious to see the ones with a pedigree, the papers to prove it. There is no such thing as an aspie in the wild, to write as such is a lie. I would have to do a in depth doctorate level pre clause for anyone to read anything I wrote to even try to relate it to others. As in Bipolar, I didn't even try, to do so would be to cast ill light on another. I carried the epilepsy label and I carried the ADHD labels as well. Enough ill lights have been cast on manic/depression, so many so that they don't even use the term much anymore. And you think you carry a big letters AS on your chest? Carry the BP label for a while and see how you're viewed. Anybody attempting to classify themselves with out the whole background is misleading. I won't do it. It isn't that I don't see a need or the want. It is just beyond my feeble skills to do so and leave no doubt the other things involved. Besides, I'm told I ramble, but it's the way I think and to curtail it, would just be another lie. Do yourselves a big favor and get a neutral editor. Doesn't have to be skilled in knowing about being aspie, but one that is constructive for writing alone. Editing can be rough on the ego, but all writers have that curse, it's just part of the business. Titles, go with the general vote, no way in hell are you going to make everybody happy. That one person be the decider is going to make more unhappy then the mass conscencious. With the title write the freakin thing first, I doubt if there are many writers that actually start with a title and even if they do, it more times then not gets changed. Good luck, you'll need it. But maybe you play well with others, I never did.

I don't understand why NT's are birds and Aspies are fish. Am I missing something. Is that a personal analogy or has it become a common collective one? Who designated birds as NT's and Aspies as fish?

What about "Weighing In" and then instead of having all feathers in one side of the scale, and all scales on the other, put a couple of scales in with some feathers and a couple of feathers in with some scales in the other. Mix it up. Mixed up but equal. "Mixed Up" Hey, that chick is mixed up !

Nice song, shame about the person who put the words on the video.

It they're going to go to all the effort of putting the words on-screen, you'd think they'd take the trouble to get them right. E.g "then" instead of "than", makes the sung version "And you always give more than you take" into "And you always give more then you take", which really isn't the same sentiment.

They also omit the last couple of lines (I guess they got bored?) The last line, to my ears, is "May all your dreams stay big".

Yes, I noticed the spelling. It was the only video I could find that was half way decent. I'm not happy with the lack of intelligence displayed by the human population lately so I won't even go there. It would be a LLOONNGG rant!
