You would be irresistable and a real knockout. Wheelchair or not, it appears you're staying positive and doing something good with your life. THAT's what is most important, and makes a person the most beautiful... a positive attitude. It comes from within.

Christopher Reeves, one of my "Heros" ... I guess you could call him that, because he became completely paralysed from the neck down, and instead of hiding from the public went on to establish much publicised work : "The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation (CRPF) is committed to funding research that develops treatments and cures for paralysis caused by spinal cord." (The wheelchair took a lot out of Christopher Reeves, but he stayed positive and a purpose to the end.) I found him to be a man to be admired.

Anyway, THIS (below).. takes the grand prize as one of the most :eew: ANNOYING :eew: people I've ever seen in my life. Watch this youtube video :

The Most Spoiled Brat Ever?
Alicia, the brat: "..I feel sorry for people who are not gorgeous..."
and being Aspergers, I feel no pity for braindead people, just disgust.

Anyway...here's a sort of outdated one, of "the real me" (before I knew I had Aspergers Syndrome)

Image

Sorry, I have more opinionated attitude than great looks.

When I was in Elementary and Middle School, my peers called me "UGLY" and things that made me feel horrible and super-sensitive about myself. Some told me I would never have a boyfriend. When I was older, in High School, they still bullied / teased me, sometimes. In the workplace... the same things happened, except it got worse and was coming from grown women. There are very few to no pictures of me back when I was in my teens and 20's and even my 30's. There were a couple times (during my late teens / early 20's) my Dad was doing videotaping on his VHS-Camera, and when I realized he was filming, I turned away. I avoided the camera, I felt horrible and UGLY. I was afraid of my own appearance, because of the way people had tormented and traumatized me. I went to college in my mid-30's for photography/media... and learned to look at and face myself the first time in my life. People will say terrible things, and we tend to believe the bad things, and take them to heart.
Take a step back and try to get beyond the Aspergers, and inability to make eye contact and take a long, long look at who and what's doing the criticizing... what are they, other than a bully and does their opinion, really matter?

"Beauty" is in the eye of the beholder...

Here's three, more recent photos... (after I learned it was Aspergers Syndrome plagueing me and my children).

"Lithium" by Nirvana
I'm so happy 'cause today
I found my friends
They're in my head
I'm so ugly, that's okay
'Cause so are you

Broke our mirrors
Sunday morning is everyday
For all I care
And I'm not scared
Light my candles, in a daze
'Cause I've found God

(Chorus)..

That's how I've learned to feel...

just for the record, here's a little more of my "hideously UGLY face," that I spent 7/8th's of my life hiding from, avoiding a camera, afraid to face people and my self-esteem in the dust, because of the horribly cruel things people said to me... and being an Aspie, I believed them and thier lies. Simply taking them "literally" for their word.

The very, very cruel, petty things people say out of envy or spite... turn on the TV or open a magazine... girls do everything including starve themselves with anorexia and bulemia, like they'd ever be "pretty" enough to make those kind of petty people say anything "nice(?)" or accept them?
Those kind of people don't have the empathy or intellect to care about another human being.

There's a strange video on YouTube called "Doll Face" that brings out some of the same concept, that no matter what you do, it will never be "enough"... they'll just keep upping the ante on you. Never enough to be "good enough" -- when love, friendship/companionship and self-acceptance is all any person really ever needed to begin with. If a person has that, they're the wealthiest person in the world. I mean.. why do people try to have the nicest clothes, cars, jewelry, career, and all the things they do -- to gain acceptance, to buy friendships, to make people like and accept them. But when people don't have the love in them, or acceptance to offer? It's all a waste. It took a trash reporter saying Karen Carpenter (March 2, 1950 – February 4, 1983) was getting "a little chubby," and it was hurtful enough, she began dieting and became Anorexic (She died of cardiac arrest and weighed only 80 lbs.. she was 5'3" -- she was my height.) Where's the love in people, and why must everyone be made to feel so insecure... feeling obligated to hurt themself, to gain acceptance?

Is it okay to ask what type of Autism you have? You don't list yourself as Aspergers Syndrome. (My 12 year old is "PDD-NOS with Aspergers like behaviors," while my other 2 are Aspergers.)

Diagnosis: Other autism spectrum disorder
Occupation: Student/Powerchair Nerd
Interests: powerchairs, stock market, neurological diseases/disabilities, sensory integration disorders, STRAPS

You're definately a smart guy... so I'm curious what form of Autism?

Would this explain?

Sadly, I was mis-diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic by a UCLA psychiatrist when I was 8, which I later learned was not only impossible at that age, but I had no symptoms of paranoia. It boggles my mind as to how they arrived at that diagnosis, and that they put me on drugs suited for paranoia. When the drugs (of course) didn't do anything but worsen my situation, I was locked up in the hospital at UCLA for 7 months of study. Did absolutely nothing, but maybe helped out with my fear of separation from home, which I clearly remember

Aw man, that reaks.

Just one of many, many victims, but definately not a number.

Though... you should've posted at http://www.wrongplanet.net/forum11.html is my guess. You posted inside a topic thread about photos. :)

Was that aimed at me :? I couldn't figure it out for awhile... but I think it was aimed at me?
Straps told you NOT TO APOLOGIZE... probably because (like I felt) there's nothing to apologize for.

I genuinely meant it when I said,

Why would you "apologize" to Straps if a woman posts he "cute," and flirts a little... nothing wrong with that. I'm sure women flirt with him often. If a woman compares Straps to Christopher Reeves (who spent his life trying to help others after his unfortunate injury)? That's a great compliment, not an insult.

From my experience around people with disabilities... they don't want to be "Sheltered". They usually bitterly resent being treated that way. Strapples seems like an independent-minded kind of guy... that can take care of himself.

Christopher Reeves was a confident and positive man... he didn't hide in shame, or "fear" of ridicule of his disability... and he was surrounded with beautiful women. I don't know anyone rude enough to criticise Christopher Reeves, either.
Ummm, Christopher Reeves was surrounded by gorgeous women, namely because of his positive attitude... and Reeves was a very good looking man.

Yes, it is a FACT.. that straps might can receive therapy, where they help him to get more muscle tone. I wasn't meaning to be offensive at all. I was being completely honest (an Aspergers trait)... for instance, here's one disabling condition... and they can provide therapy to build muscle tone:

Hypotonia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hypotonia is a disorder that causes low muscle tone (the amount of tension or ... Exercises and Stimulation Therapy for Hypotonia from Early Parent ...

And I hope I didn't offend Straps... I genuinely empathise with your disability.

You're very cute, Straps... nothing wrong saying that, at all.
