Thanks everyone for wishing my daughter good health. She's feeling good and back to her active self.
Your post made me laugh Blessed mom about feigning interest. That's my WHOLE job, Ive almost developed it into an "art form." Its become a game for me almost at how well I have to read people and respond to their needs. The better I am at it, the quicker my rent gets paid so I'm good at interjecting animation and interest. You have to give what I call "the Academy Award Performance." If you make it a game it almost becomes sorta fun instead of just drudgery to get through.

Thank you, Richie!! I woke up this morning and thought about the gazillion things I need to get done today before I go to work at noon and wished I had more time do them. I completely forgot about setting the clocks back. I have an extra hour.

I'll bet those cats would cost a great deal. There is also a shampoo you can get that is supposed to neutralize the allergens. My friend tried it and said it didn't work. I'll just have to continue being a nerdy dog lady.

There's daylight savings in Canada as well as here? Must be really dark by 16:00 (4:00PM) where you are. In less than a week

PS this is the guy that came to my door with a crowbar, complaining about the landlady. ..
when I pointed out he had a crowbar he was pounding the curved part into his hand he told me he was using it to 'pull weeds' from around his abandoned car parked in the back and that I was paranoid.

Getting ready to "borrow" a cat. The shrews are taking over. And I don't have the heart to put out traps and kill them so I may borrow a cat from one of the cooks at work (he has 5 or 6) hoping he'll scare them into moving to the neighbors apartment.
They're living the good life here. One of them is so fat he looks like "Templeton" from "Charlottes Web" after the fair and can't even run from me, he waddles away

I think I just pulled a muscle - the vision of Reika "chasing" a "waddling" shrew - too good!

I'm really worried about my father. I've been trying to call him for a week. Usually he is there, or will return my call without fail. I keep getting the answering machine. he had a stroke about six months ago, but recovered pretty well. I have been having trouble sleeping, and when I do sleep, dread waking and remembering that I still don't know if everything is alright or not.

Hope he's okay, hartz. Is there anyone who can look in on him for you?

No, there isn't. Most of my family is estranged from him. I am the only one who bothers to call him and chat with him. And by association, my family won't deal with me. So if something has happened, I don't know how I can find out. When we were kids, my parents separated, and our mother turned us against him. It wasn't until the last few years that I realized how big a lie I had been living. Most of the things she said about him weren't even true, and I found out some truly horrific stuff about her, through counseling. Now, I wish I hadn't ignored him all those years. I found that he truly loved his children, and my mother, out of spite, cut us off from him.

I'm only a few miles from the border! It just turned dark here and it's 5:30pm. And it snowed all day after being about 12C for the past 2 weeks. I'm not going to complain, it'll be -20C here soon enough.
