I'll have to sort out what it is that they want. I could just present my actual findings (as I don't know this person, I don't know if they're blind, in a wheelchair, or what), but I suspect that there's a politically correct spin that they want put on this.

Which, if necessary, I am more than capable of doing. It's just a matter of trying to figure out what it is that they want. If someone else speaks before me at the panel, or if there's an introductory greeting that drops any hints, I can amend my presentation on the fly. But I'd druther not. As long as I have a script, I can present.

Actually, I'd druther not do a panel presentation at all, but this duck seems to have taken on a rather high-profile sort of aura. Someone higher up has found out about it and wants it to go well, as it would be good PR. I could do a good job of it as a written report. But it's not going to BE a written report. And there's going to be an audience. Oh, well, if I blow it, I blow it. If I do well, I can use it. Especially now that I'm "a person with a disability." (Calculating, aren't I? I'm a regular little 5th columner, I am.)

Oy. Games.

Hi Lau. Yep, I did know that. The sig would not let me attach more, or I would have. The photo you have embedded is at Oak Canyon, I think, off the 52 Freeway. Very near my house. I remember driving by it afterwards - and my kid took photographs. It was like a charcoal sketch, all black and white.

I've always been amused, in a twisted sort of way, by the photo with the "road closed" sign.

Just wanted to say that it could be misconstrued as "calculating" Nan, but to me its more a representation of you putting your ability to "play the game...walk the walk, talk the talk.." what ever you want to call it, to a beneficial use for the betterment of others who may be unable to get their meaning across in a way that will be understood by the general public. Your in the position to help the people who aren't as adept at "blending in and adaption." Go give that "Academy Award Performance."

I studied disability policy and social welfare public policy dysfunction in grad school, and never got to use it... hmmm, this might be somewhere to go. I'm pretty burned out at playing "secretary" these days. Or it might go nowhere at all. But if you don't play, you can't ever win.

Kinda pissed off at companies that won't ship to a P.O. Box. Ordered a Dizzy Disk Jr. for baby girl and they called and said they won't ship to a P.O. Box. They had the best price for shipping to Alaska so now I have to go search again.
Got the results of the Grant Application back. They'll pay for her "Comfy Sack" 7.5 foot memory foam filled beanbag and shipping for it. ($520.00) and gave us $400.00 in respite care. They would't cover her dizzy disc and other miscellaneous items, which is why I ordered them. I HATE paying shipping to Alaska!! O.K. I'm done now, sorry for the rant.
