maybe Chuck can weigh into this when he is done rebuilding his home.I just wanted to warn anyone who might have considered the 5-HTP route to help with depression,appitite and sleeping(the most common uses).Evidently it can cause right heart valve problems when taken with more then 10mg vit.B6?That information was from a DR but written in 1994,so maybe invalid info.
According to him,it is the same thing that happens to "islanders" from a specific(or was the Pacific,lol) place that ate a large amount of green babanas(they have a lot of seritonin in them,as does pinapple
)and the seritonin does not cross the blood brain barrier and stays in the blood and then something happens(alchemy)in the lungs converting it to something that causes fyroids in the heart valve Chuck...does any of this make sense to you?I think if you dont take B6 suppliments(I do)and just get it from your food the 5-HTP is converted into a seritonin that CAN cross the barrier but to much B6 causes a different chemical process.
Guess I will skip the B6 vit. and keep researching possible problems(no warning on the label,part of the problem with herbs/vit/etc)
ummm, krexie, be really careful what you put in your body there, ok? just because it's "natural" doesn't mean it can't hurt you. it's possible to overdose even on vitamins.

Boy, you guys sure know how to welcome a girl home from work. Tree huggers, Hippies and the DK, all of which I am or have at one time been. Used to travel 2 hours to see the Dead Kennedies and then drive my bro and his friends home for 2 hours when they were all on their little acid trips. Good times!!

Huge pine and neighbors trees. We have a fire pit as do the neighbours. It feels like camping and the yard is the reason I stay here. The house is falling apart but it's got a helluva yard!
40 ft. spruce trees at the side of the house. (It's what I look at while I'm sitting at the computer)
And the back corner of my little house.
Nanking cherry bush for jelly and pie.
The crab apple tree that I am still raking apples from.

and be really careful about postie, chuck and lau if they even look like they're thinking of mentioning duct tape.
trust me on that one, tho mom can really tell you from first-hand experience.
Lau's a brilliant gentleman. Those other 2, though........ don't let them fool you for a minute. Or Gromit, either for that matter!
