And it's been hotter here the last three summers than any I can remember since moving here - the people who've been here a long time agree it's getting hotter every summer. It has not rained, appreciably, in years. It used to just pour down rain, back in the 1980s and early 1990s. I know that, historically, the southwest goes through periods of intense drought and heat, as can be told from the tree rings up at White Mountain. But I think they come on more slowly, not so abruptly as this. And the butterflies didn't come this way last year, the migration either didn't happen or it happened elsewhere.

Hallo, all! I was right, it was a long night. I didn't get to sleep until 3AM and had to be up at the usual 6:30AM. And the wind she's still a'blowin'. It could be worse, though. In Waterton National Park, which borders Glacier National Park in Montana, the winds were recorded at 127 km/hr (80m/hr) last night. And the weather forecast for the next 5 days......more wind.

Oh my.

Sounds like West Texas.

Too bad you can't put a turbine up and collect it - you'd have the electric company paying YOU then!

Oh, the Alberta government has found a way to make it so we still pay, even with privately owned turbines. They've set up wind farms like this one by Pincher Creek. They are an hour SW of here and get winds gusting as high as 160km/hr.

YEAAAAAH Wind Farms. Go bug all your political leaders for more Wind, Solar, and fuel cells for cars.
Not only is it for the enviroment, but its what I put the PFD into (my VERY first investment) Global Alternative Energy Fund, also socially responsible heard about them on good old PBS. So bug your leaders, I gave up a supercool bike to invest in the future, and besides I don't want to be a "Bag Lady" when I'm old. And I'v allready been homeless once and have no desire to do that again.

You know what I love best about insulation? The prickly irritants it leaves in my fingers are much less bothersome than the ones it leaves on my backside. [Although I do not remember installing the insulation with my backside, which must have assisting without my knowledge - which proves that (unlike Lau), I do have a subconscious. Or I'm on unthinking autopilot quite a lot of the time. Or my backside is.]

There's something quite satisfactory about undertaking a construction job and having it turn out right. At least, I would imagine, because none of mine ever have. However, after many 'stops' and 'gos', and 're-dos', and 'tear-downs', and 're-measures', and 'hissy-fits', and 'drunken carnage and sobbing' I have by some miracle finally succeeded in hanging one picture.

I'll stop while I am ahead.

I'm off for a nap after no sleep last night(unusual for my first night off work but my brain was in over-drive planning winter craft projects).

Just wanted to leave any depressives and particularly Nannarob and our Pharmicists Chuck...the following link.This article is about a possible link between depression and viral infections.....(Nannarob,did any rabid monkeys bite your ass in Vietnam?Maybe something in the water?).There are lots of other interesting articles on this sites forum.I plan on going back to read more when my cognition is back up to at least 4th grade level...(me feel dumb,no sleep me).

yeah, i do
had a little discussion with my boss, but he was very sports.
(i told him that i only work there for a few days and that it might need some time, he said he agreed but that i did give the impression of being someone who can't do nothing, which is quite true as well)
and his way of seeing things is very inspiring
he also gives me every information i need, shows me how to improve things, and encourages me (or the other two who work there) to give
all the energy and creativity and push it a little more.

the only negative thing is i can't go by bike (it's 45-50km), nor by train (there is no station)

Made me laugh when I read that DeaconBlues, thats what time my mom used to try to put me down for a nap when I was little so she could watch "her stories." I used to sneak out and watch "Dark Shadows" w/ her hidden in a cabinet that had a view of the T.V.
