Oh, bummer! I'm only 2 posts away from 3000. 8O I've been called "motormouth" my whole life and now I'll have to switch it to "typestoomuch". What should I put on my 3000th post? Any suggestions?

Hey, Cafe people! My dad is stable, and giving the rehab staff hell. He will be ready to move to a sub-acute facility next week or so. He has disconnected his bedside phone, and his girlfriend is looking after his affairs. I don't know at this point if he will be able to return to his home. His girlfriend has not returned my calls, (still a jealousy thing going on, maybe?) so I have gotten all info from my father's case manager.

Lemon, glad your new job is working out. :)

yeah, i do :D :D
had a little discussion with my boss, but he was very sports.
(i told him that i only work there for a few days and that it might need some time, he said he agreed but that i did give the impression of being someone who can't do nothing, which is quite true as well)
and his way of seeing things is very inspiring
he also gives me every information i need, shows me how to improve things, and encourages me (or the other two who work there) to give
all the energy and creativity and push it a little more.

the only negative thing is i can't go by bike (it's 45-50km), nor by train (there is no station)

SO glad it's going well. :D

Wow, THIS is all a change from the last I'd heard! And for the better - someone's on his case. How are you doing with it all?

Well, after a week of making myself sick with emotional overload, I am working at adjusting to the idea that he may not be able to return to his home. I will admit that he was helping me out financially on occasion, and I see this coming to an end, if the girlfriend has control of his finances. Now I worry that she will take advantage of him. As for me, I guess this is the time in my life when I have to come to terms with knowing I will eventually lose both my parents. I am approaching the half-century mark, myself! :? Hard to believe.

That is good to hear, that your dad is back to being ornery. At least there is someone you can talk to now. Maybe having him stay in a home will be better for him and you will be able to keep tabs on him easier. That would be less worry for you.

Yay! My 3000th post was for you, Hartz! :D
