Hey, Cafe people! My dad is stable, and giving the rehab staff hell. He will be ready to move to a sub-acute facility next week or so. He has disconnected his bedside phone, and his girlfriend is looking after his affairs. I don't know at this point if he will be able to return to his home. His girlfriend has not returned my calls, (still a jealousy thing going on, maybe?) so I have gotten all info from my father's case manager.

Lemon, glad your new job is working out. :)

That is good to hear, that your dad is back to being ornery. At least there is someone you can talk to now. Maybe having him stay in a home will be better for him and you will be able to keep tabs on him easier. That would be less worry for you.

Yay! My 3000th post was for you, Hartz! :D

and look who's ms chatty kathy now!! !! yeah, congrats mom!

Yes, but richie beat me!! Remember that! :P

Congratulations on post # 3000!

I hit the big three at around the same time Cockney Rebel hit 15000. I was hoping to show screenshots
of the changes I made to my laptop computer but I'm not all that familiar with dealing with graphics in Linux
and I also have to rebuild my entire library of bookmarks and text files that I use when making certain types
posts. The graphics above are one example of what I store in my note pad.
All that has to be copied into the Linux partition.
But I see you have been busy through the night and while I was at work.

Congratulations Hartz on you post #2000......

Don't worry, Chuck and Postie did it!!

And I'm sure Gromit and Lau had something to do with it, as well. Subversives, those two.

From five or six AM until 2:30PM or 3:30PM I'm at work packing and loading the windows our kids look out of in school......

This thread is beginning to read like cross between "Days of Our Lives" and the "News From Lake Wobegon".

WOW Nan!! ! Just went and did a quick perusal of the site, sounds fantastic. They even nail you down to a one year deadline so that would FORCE me to not procrastinate any longer. Thank You so much. Have added it to my fav list and will read it all when I get back from the store. Have to go while baby-angel-girl is at school. She's outta pizza. BTW the pizza e-coli thing scared me for a second but thank god my "Meat-eating-issues" made me only buy cheese pizzas for her. Pepperoni, yuck! (says the person who worked in a hot dog factory in Iowa)

Check the second site, too (changed the post, sorry). It is based in WA, but they do a sliding scale thing for cost for the dogs. It's kind of a "pay what you can" scheme - it might be worth getting on whatever waiting list they might have. They will place dogs anywhere in the country.

Be prepared for waiting lists, no matter where you go.

Hope it helps, will keep an eye out for you.

A melancholy, and slightly off note, BOTW. Just be thankful I didn't think of Leonard Cohen.

Via a wander elsewhere, a short arms list made me laugh, but I had nowhere to post it.

I'm just going to sit here on the rubble, until someone shoes me away. All the furniture is gone. At least the weathers fine, so the lack of roof doesn't matter, yet.

A cigarette and an Absinthe would be appropriate, except that I don't drink or smoke these days.

I'll just put my headphones on and listen to some Brigadoom.

Six months and six hundred pages...........
