I've lived through some very strained, tense holiday seasons, though. The people I know in twelve-step programs always say that the busiest time for their meetings is the Christmas-New Year period.
I was watching Martha Stewart this morning. She had Russell Crowe on and he was telling her that the new trend in Australia is going more towards seafood and cold dishes for Christmas because it's the middle of summer there. I don't blame any of you. There's no way I'd be cooking a turkey dinner in the heat.
(Yep, I've decided that since I seem to be getting called "Martha" and other things that are meant to be equally demeaning, I may as well just go with it. One day I'll figure out how my enjoying domesticity and being darn good at it is a bad thing.

we put up our christmas tree tonight and it looks kewl.
we have to get up to be at linens and things by 5am because they are selling a limited number of turntable thingies for $49 (while supplies last) and i want to get one so i can get my records out of storage....

Sorry folks, I go out for my breakfast on the weekends. Norma's makes excellent omelets.
But I prefer over easy with ham steak and home fries.

Yesterday it got up to 72 degrees F, and now it is barely above freezing......
I think blessedmom pumped reverse power into the wind turbines and pointed them in my direction.

Actually, it's been below 0C all week and there's a layer of snow on the ground that's been here for 4 days. I just noticed the wind is starting again. It's supposed to be 7C tomorrow.

Hello there! Just thought I'd finally wander in and see what it's like hanging out with people my own age 
But you are all eating breakfast now and I'm not... I've just been waiting until later in the day to eat, usually.
So... after breakfast... what are you all going to do?
I just figured out that I am working tonight (looked on my 'new' PDA someone gave me), so I have at least one thing scheduled.
