:jester:

This is so much fun...

So, the single object in my avatar has you stumped. Where's :smug: when you need it!?

In the lower image, the span across the 42 hooked over (inward facing) and pointed pins is about five inches.

I'll put up a higher resolution image later...

PS. You're gonna kill me, when I reveal all.

it's an elastor band spreader for castration

I think 8O

It's sure meant to spread something like a band or bag.

Can't tell about the end where the guide bars end up in a small circle.

You pull down on the 'tab' and the disc showing on the top pic is pulled downward spreading the tines.

I was wondering if it had something to do with holding open a turkey while being stuffed, but I don't think that's it afterall.

Maybe it hooks to some fleshy part of veggie or animal and spreads it for some reason.

Maybe it spreads a bonnet for a woman's bun.. err... that's BUN not BUM!

We bought a new scanner/printer/copier thing (tremendous sale price) today and the literature that came with it had a link to this http://cp.c-ij.com/english/3D-papercraft/index.html

It's the ultimate treasure-trove of print-out, glue-together art. :D The kid is doing the wolves tonight, and plans to work on Castle VonYourMomSchtein tomorrow....

Ok, Lau. Better photo of "the thing" please? The one end looks like it's meant to snap onto a button or something. The other end I can't see well enough to guess at.

Okay, it's not for spreading, now that I see the hooks.

It's for pulling together.

This is obviously a pre-suture flap-aligning tissue-opening reducer! :D

Sometimes used in the kitchen for CLOSING the open cavity of a large bird or other animal prior to sewing closed after stuffing, followed by baking/roasting/deep-frying!

Is it for holding onto something, like a bunch of wool, that's attached to a scale to weigh it?

Come on, a better hint, Lau.

Or for holding onto a diaper so you can put it in the toilet and flush the "contents" away but not have the diaper go down the plumbing?

That could work with today's diapers... but it looks like it was made way before we started flushing diapers away or even throwing them away (you must have a mighty strong toilet to flush a diaper down the tubes! 8O :D )

I also like your idea above about grabbing something....

Since I think this is supposed to be a kitchen implement (please correct me if I'm wrong... just no sharp sticks please), perhaps it holds the little toddler up in a safe place until Mom is done in the kitchen!

It's Cafe Limerick Time!
The words aren't all that hard to rhyme,
Though the choice of the word
May sound quite absurd;
It's the scansion of the last bit that gives me so much trouble that maybe I should just switch to mime.

:)

got sent home from work sick tonight. Really dizzy, almost feels like "bed spins" but I don't drink. It would be kinda cool if I did't feel so crappy. No snotty nose, no cough, just a little congested in the head and dizzy. Gotta be inner ear, but still "FEEL" o.k. Fevers coming on through. At least I'll have stuff to read while I'm sick. :compress: even sitting down I feel like I'm spinning.
