:D I just requested the information about being a consultant for "Tomboy Tools". http://tomboytools.ca/index.php That would sure beat Avon or Tupperware.

Now that my dayhome will be defunct, I'll have to find something that I can do to supplement my earnings from the store. I had a dayhome parent tell me her child will be gone as of Dec. 7 and the other parent doesn't want her child here alone. That is understandable. I could find new children, there are many that need care, but I believe my childcare days are over.

I don't know if they work in Canada, Laurie, but there are several companies in the USA where you can serve as the "answer" person for inbound phone calls. These are places that contract their services out rather than having their own call centers. You have to have reliable internet access and a dedicated phone line, but you're paid either by the hour or by the call, depending on the company. I've seriously considered doing this once I "retire" and we relocate - I'm more than happy to answer the phone for a doctor's office from midnight to eight if I can do so from my own home!

Good luck - just think of all that quiet!

hhhmmmmmmm....... that is definitely something I'm going to look into. 8) I really don't want to have to leave my house and be social everyday. I can handle 30 hours a week and that is all. That's the only drawback to selling things like Tupperware or Tomboy Tools at house parties, the socialization aspect. I just can't be that social. It's not just that I don't want to, I physically can't.

8O This will be the first time in 16 and half years that I won't have little people in my house during the day. :D

While researching migraines this morning.. yes, I have another one  ..... I found this.

http://aiws.info/

No wonder "Alice In Wonderland" is one of my favorite books!

(And yes, I know it is just some person's theory, but it is odd enough to appeal to me. )

Interesting Blessedmom.I have had a very few migrains, maybe 3 a year...other headaches I have monthly but some Acetameniohan ususally takes care of those.

I used to get some very odd "sensations and perceptions",specifically when in Highschool and college.I assumed they had something to do with depression and latter assumed they were "aspie related".One involves the sensation that the ground is coming up to meet my feet instead of that I am moving my foot down.Another is that I am not in my body but in my head looking out eye "windows"...it makes me think of that mechanical spider in Johnny Quest(I loved that cartoon). When I would look in the mirror...I didnt feel like I was that 'picture' in front of me.I was constantly being starteled by things I saw from the corner of my eye(like my image in a mirror that I was walking passed...thinking there was someone else in the house, lol)of when my hair or fabric would brush against my face and I would feel like someone was touching me(or a bug was on me) and scream.

Now I am wondering how much of this is AS,migrain related or just my generic insanity.

Reika....I often get that dizzy, kind of stoned feeling when I am first coming down with a cold....I sort of see it as "cheating" on my sobriety and enjoy it if I dont have to "function".It seems to be most intense when I stand-up or move my eyes to fast to the side(a lot like skipping a dose of Effexor). For some reason,I find the altered sensation kind of fun and I tend to get giddy until I start getting the other "sick symptoms"....not so fun.It also reminds me of those "tired waves" that wash over me sometimes, when I am trying to force myself to stay awake but my mind says...nope,and I am kind of "inbetween worlds".Maybe it would creep me out more if I hadn't felt it so often when sick(and done a lot of LSD and cough-syrup).I certainly like the sensation more then the "detached feeling I get in social situations...that creeps me out.

Krexie, I deal with those all the time. Sometimes worse, when I'm really tired or stressed out. I used to dodge things I saw out of the corner of my eye, sometimes, in high school. People were a little...taken aback would fit, I guess. I hate the "ground rising to my feet" thing as it makes going down stairs really troublesome - I've almost fallen a few times.

The "who the hell is that in the mirror" thing is compounded now by the fact that I've aged rapidly and visibly over the last two or three years. (The mileage is catching up to me, I guess, now.) I have rarely looked at myself in a mirror, so now when I do I'm kind of shocked. Even when I was younger, though, sometimes I'd have times when it looked like it was someone else looking back. I noticed that these times correlated to the times when my daughter would come up to me in a crowd and if I wasn't expecting her to be there it'd be a few minutes before I recognized her. She'd usually have to talk. That felt pretty damned odd - what kind of mom can't even recognize their own kid? :(

I used to get migraines quite often, without any aura that I remember. After childbirth, though, I never had another migraine. But I did start having visual and sensory auras that a few medical types have called "optical migraines" after then. (My pet theory is that I burned out all my nerve endings during childbirth? )

Hi Krex, yeah it is kinda fun (sorta like standing-up-bed-soins) but I can't work like this so I need to get it together by tomorrow night. I will, I have faith in me.
Sorry about your migrains, they sound horriable,
I bet you miss the little ones too (at first) then maybe you'll enjoy the freedom and peacefullness BlessedMom.
Telling myself "I won't get sucked into WP today" and yet here I sit.
Only until the clothes come out of the dryer. I mean it.

 Not a chance. I'll miss the activity a little but not the kids. Once you've been doing this job for a couple of years, you don't attach to the kids anymore. When they're gone, they're gone. 8)

All bets must be paid in Canadian dollar.

I get "stealth" or silent migraines, just the "Aura" which disrupts my vision, depth perception goes out of whack, almost impossible
to read and heightened sensitivity to light, sound and touch, just a little bit of headache and subtle nausea.....
Not as bad as the nasty ones I had as a teenager, those were crippling and lasted for days and didn't end until I barfed.
I take Excedrin Migraine to deal with the pain and sometimes saltine crackers help with any nausea.

Hi, Richie.

Many people seem to get them like that. I had one at work on Friday that made everything look warped. I'd look at the yarn shelves and it looked as if all the yarn should be falling off. I ended up taking an anti-nauseant. My middle son gets the crippling, "barfing" :eew: migraines. He has to stay in his room with all lights off.
