I tried to watch that Tin Man link, and my computer started warning me that a "script" from the site was making the computer run slow, and if it continued, my computer would become unresponsive. What was that all about?

I am off to do the part I most dread...taking piictures of some of the "vintage cloths I have and writing up descriptions and pricing them.I am no good at this "business thing"...I dont know the appropriate "fashion talk" to use...'bout all I know about stuff is...it's made out of silk(I think)and is sorta blue and pretty as heck.
This should be interesting.I will probably back soon screaming for some "tech advice when I can't load my pics or they come out fuzzy.I did find a new site that you can crop and size photos(free....yeah for free stuff).I think I will probably over-price the vintage stuff because I secretly want to use the fabric for "art projects"(thats why I bought the cloths...I seldom wear anything but pajamaz,lol.
If anyone knows anything about "vintage anything...feel free to help me with pricing or discriptions...I'm pretty lost here.(I wish someone else could do this part and just let me get busy making stuff...that's the fun part.
Another problem with the pics is I live in a cave.....I need to try and get some light in this dungeon to take good pics.This vampire lighting is just not going to cut it.
If you need help with the fashion and textiles talk I'd be glad to help you. I did the descriptions for a couple of local highschool fashion shows. I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was in Gr. 12.
I am loving your new obsession, Krex!
Thanks for the offer Blessedmom,I sure could use the input.I am simply lousy at using terms like (delicious,lush,creamy,dreamy....kind of makes me throw-up in my mouth a little,lol)
I dont have a "dummy" and certainly dont plan on modeling cloths myself(wouldn't fit into most of it)I bought some cheap flat cardbard models from a fabric store that was going out of business(not with this in mind but cause they looked like giant puppets)I guess I will try and dress those....I am dreaming of having a dressmakers model someday but they are $130.00 and not in the budget right now(also not much room here to keep one....maybe some day.)There are some cheap plastics onnes on ebay,but they are so sexy,I am afraid my boyfriend might get some "funny ideas" about what a women is supposed to look like(OK,shoot me now,I'm jelouse of a plastic female model with great abs and perky boobs).....
I dont have photoshop or any fancy photo editing tools.....anyone have a suggestion for a free down-load for photos(something I can crop,lighten and resize all in one place?I do have the software for microsoft Publisher(2003 and 2007)has anyone used these and do they have a good photoshop in them?

The word "dreamy" isn't in my vocabulary for that same reason.

"Oh, Merle! don't GUSH!" "The baby Jesus is the only thing that is ADOREABLE!" "don't be so passionate about it, it's just a moth!" " you are always so over the top!
I had to learn to not sound like the TV when I was young!

I got that too, Merle. I must have looked burlesque, as I tried to "do like the NTs do." Or imitate favorite movie stars to get my point across.

I had a guy deliver a package yesterday and apoligize for waking me up(I had been up and drinking coffee for several hours).
Evidently,"sleepy" is my normal way of presenting myself.No wonder my mom never thought I was "happy enough" when getting gifts(of course,not buying me pink sweaters might have helped).
When I see something that amazes me....I get about as far as "wow" and the rest is all staring and touching....words just dont seem to be there,(kind of odd for a reader.)If the hippies hadn't coined"cool" and "wow"...I would be truely speechless when impressed.
Thanks for the links to the photos places Richie.....unfortunately,I just spent the last few hours photoing some of my vintage cloths(It is really hard to take a good picture of beaded dresses and dress labels,took forever to get OK shots)Then I went to load them from our new camara and my stuipid windows system says what it says whenever I try and instal new hardware(like the new external memory)....This system is not approved(it said it was on the box
)I choose the "load anyway" option and it appears to load and then the computer says it can not find it....while it is plugged into my USB port and I have already loaded the instal software that came with it.
There seems to be some kind of "glitch" that doesn't let my computer recognize "plug and Play" items.It has screwed up my ipod(I have to keep erasing and reloading the whole thing...the external memory is not only not working but a "found new hardware" thiing keeps showing up and wont let me close it.I already uninstaled it and dont have it plugged in....I am hating computers today.
Pretty ironic to have spent all this time researching Etsy,getting supplies and then not be able to open my store because I can't load my pictures.....I'm curseded,I tell ya.
On the up-side.I have the night off from work...yeah me ![]()

hartz. .
It will be much faster if you can state exactly what the words of the message read. This will make the troubleshooting much simpler.

The SciFi site is quite heavy on clever stuff. I had a peer at what the front page does, and took a snapshot of what my Seamonkey tells me is going on:
Even on the front page, there is the Shockwave Flash animation (.swf) going on in the middle, a couple of advert scripts from doubleclick.net and no less than six other Javascript scripts in use. (I find it slightly annoying that scifi.com force their page to be 1161 wide - a bit tough on people with monitors that can't do better than 1024x768.)
What OS are you using? XP or Vista? I suspect Vista, because that's what your "error" message sounds like - another of the irritating and pointless interferences from it. The other possibility would be Norton - they can be quite annoying too, when they keep trying to stop you doing what you want to do.
======================
I did get one warning from my error console:
Source File: http://www.scifi.com/tinman/?__source=GGL|CAMP007Tin+Man|ADGP008Specific|
KWRD006tinman&sky=GGL|CAMP007Tin+Man|ADGP008Specific|KWRD006tinman
Line: 0
====================
So far as its general level of coding goes, the Scifi page is served up by Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) PHP/4.3.10 as if it is XHTML 1.0 Transitional, but the W3C validator gives "Failed validation, 122 Errors".
====================
So... technical enough?

Maybe an easy one here...
A friend had exactly this problem, the other day, and it turned out that XP wouldn't talk to the camera until you pressed one of the buttons on the camera. Unfortunately, I can't recall which button, or indeed, how I found out. I think I Googled for it, or maybe it was in the camera manual/help?

Yup, it could be that simple or.... you bought a Kodak. They have their heads up the dark dark place with the software for their camera dock. We have two different docks in the house and I can get neither to work, no plug and play to them. I have even had the family pros try and they couldn't either. (pros, as in, computers are their day jobs) By pass it totally and let something like Adobe do the loading for you. That doesn't help with keeping your battery charged which mean a trip to an on line store or the mall for a battery charger. Andria uses Adobe PhotoShop Elements, freebie, to download pictures from her camera. Works very very well and no hassle. Sometimes you can get lucky with XP and have it link straight to the camera as well. All and all, XP has a very hard time with cameras, least so far in this house.
Yeah that link on the Sc-Fi page put this system through some pain. I never finished watching the thing, I got bored.
My computers and I. Strange relationship. If it doesn't do what I want, when I want, in an instantaneous manner, I hate it and it hates me. If I get to a site like the vid on the Sc-Fi channel, the computers pain is mine as if that little cherub on the Gerber Baby food jars was having hot pins pushed through it's chubby little cheeks. Normally I would enjoy that and like it even better if it was my kids instead of the actor baby. (He's really 32, smokes cigars, likes boob porn and plays the ponies. Just like my kids, except their vices and ages are more varied then that over paid jerk) However I gave birth to both of these computers and my mothers rage can do whatever it damn well feels like and for whatever reason. It does not have to make sense to the rest of the world. I was given the right by painful birth. I hate every wire in it because wires hate me, but it's mine, all mine and I love it faults and all. I know of no Socity of the Prevention of Cruelty to Computers, SPCC(TM), and until some uppity up decides to enforce their will on mine, I will always have the option, the threat of a hard wood 2x4 by my side, just like rising kids. I dared them to take mine, they wouldn't. Try to take my computers and you'll never get fully through the door, till you fall in your own pool of blood. A Mothers rage is not pretty and I am a mean Mother Ducker when it comes to mine. My kids? Anyone want em? I'll supply names and addresses, take the grand-kids too.
