"Speaking" in tongues? 8O :P Not me! I was born with an excellent (glasses-corrected) visual input, a lousy audio input, and terrible output interfaces (except for drawing and sculpting). :P When I speak, it probably sounds like it is in tongues.

Daniel Tammet's math skills far surpass mine, and his language skills do as well. Kim Peek's memory and reading skills go waaay past where mine could even hope to, and I do not have the calendar skills of either.

But I see pictures in everything with texture. I was drawing and sculpting in clay long before I could talk. I used to stare at walls, tree bark, sand, rocks, water ripples, etc. and see pictures of every sort. I used to play with clay non-stop. They took my clay away at school - I got in trouble for pulling the putty off window panes to play with it.  Kids in kindergarten were making "snowmen" out of clay, and rolling "snakes" between their palms. I was making mice riding motorcycles, and dinosaurs, and animals of every sort. I see pictures on nearly every blank sheet of paper I stare at. If I am interested in a subject, and it is visually oriented, I can memorize books on it (anatomy for instance).

I'm not even in their league. Those guys are phenomenal!! ! In the "Idiot Savant" realm, they are more towards "savant", and I am more towards "idiot".

Helen, I think you really should take Merle with you. All the other women here as well. Then I want to see:
1. the video you women-folk send back of Lau's reaction to all of you greeting him at the same time, and
2. the video of Lau trying to keep up with and serve as tour guide for all of you Aspie women at the same time. 8O

(I just have this funny visual inside my head that is somewhat like Lau trying to herd cats. I know that I am in sooo much trouble now. I don't mean that in an insulting way - its just that each of you are so independent - I can just picture everyone scattering to the winds in search of what interests each of you most).

Hello,

I am so excited - I have organised to spend a day in London with Lau in January 2008.

Perhaps I will sneak him into my luggage and get him to come to Australia for a brief holiday.

8O Helen!! ! 8O
Lau loses his shoulders, and stuff... ...Lemon visited him and an alligator ended up missing from a zoo... ...are you sure you are ready for this (gulp)? 8O (Chuck swoons, feet in air...)

I plan on smuggling out a t-rex skeleton - with Lau's help!

Merle, if money was no object I'd visit you, and then bring you back to Australia for a holiday.

Chuck, would Lau cope with a bunch of women???

On your way can stop over in Pennsylvania and see about smuggling Postie and me.....
I could use a fair-dinkum holiday just about now.

I can assure you that your image is quite erroneous, with me doing any herding. When Lemon, her daughter and I met up, in the Tate, we had a coffee, then immediately scattered to (three of) the four corners of the gallery. I seem to recall that mini-Lemon was keeping track of us by following sounds of laughter. She didn't seem that embarrassed, but I guess she's used to her mum, and so I wasn't that much of an extra adjustment.

That's cool, Smelena! :D

Cool!! !! 8O Oh! Oh! I want one too! :D Or a Smilodon! (If it's not too much trouble). Of course, Daniel will also want one. So can you get three? Hmmm? (You'd probably better bring a large empty book bag into the museum).

Or are you going to start a new dig??? :D I want to help!

Yes - I can picture a more accurate picture now. You guys would greet - a collective unstable high-energy mass - the countdown would begin: ...three, ...two, ...one - then everyone would fly apart like fissionable uranium - Lau as well!! !

:P (can't do it - it's permanently inserted). The cracks and dips and holes all stopped forming, so it seems to have shifted and settled into a more comfortable position. I will check it out with a geologist after the winter. I'm hoping the winter weather will open everything up some more - after some freezes and thaws. But we are supposed to have a fairly mild winter this year - so may not have any luck. I'm hoping it caves in - my deer need a lake. :) Plus - that should discourage new home building in the area. I already have more neighbors than I want. Not to mention, I would no longer need to mow that area. (If it doesn't happen on its own, perhaps a little octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine could coax it along, if some were to - say - appear for some reason. I'm just sayin'.)

disclaimer: note to all authorities - Chuck does not have any octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine. Chuck has never heard of Kingsport, Tennessee. Hey!! ! You defense experts put this on the internet first, it wasn't me! Don't print it if you don't want it spread around - you total nincompoops!! ! Chuck included this information solely for bad joke purposes. Chuck is no longer involved in explosives and/or demolitions in any way, shape, form, or fashion. Well, sometimes for fashion. (ok - not really). You KGB-types need to lighten up a little, fer cryin' out loud! Let me spell it out for those without humor glands - this has all been a joke. Just like the defense department. For "Ha Ha" purposes only. Certain restrictions may apply.

Hmmmm... now who could that be knocking on my door?... ...WAIT! NO!! ! I am not an Evildoer!! ! I am not one of the Forces of Evul! !!....AAAAAAAhhhhhh.....

You could always ask for Lego-Raptor plans......

8O :D Richie has supplied the idea to make Smelena and Lau's Mission Impossible t-rex smuggle/visit work! Caretaker-dressed Lau enters London's Natural History Museum with several dozen empty large book bags - and uses them to cover all of the security cameras. Next, Smelena drives in with a large, ...er very large front-end loader emblazoned with "We Collect Your Dusty Bones and Return Them Spotless! :skull: " on its sides, scoops t-rex, and skeeddaddles. Lau then wheels an enormous magnifying lens in front of the former t-rex display, discreetly places a Lego-Raptor T-rex on the dislpay platform, and departs.

I haven't figured out who awaits at the harbor with a tanker, but you two will have more fun if you figure minor details out for yourselves. (I also have plans for a 'pilchard diversion' if you need them).
