Thank you everyone for your sympathetic messages, music and art. Funny thing is, I didn't get anywhere near this emotional when I had my own "miss" 15 years ago. At the time, I was rather numb and dry-eyed about it. It did come as a surprise how many other women I knew had had similar occurrences: stillbirths, children lost to cot death, etc. We get through it somehow, then lift up our heads and carry on. And so it will be this time. Birdie, who is now one, is such a joy to have around that I don't think any of us can be gloomy for long.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.

cold in the nights, even my turned off baseboard heaters in the bedroom click on, I guess they are set up if it is under 32 degrees F to switch on if there is electricity. Fog/mist in the morning that cristalizes into snow dust.

Up north on the Columbia the storm surge tides swamping the river towns, I am glad I missed that
