My thoughts exactly. Here's the comment I made at the time:

Actually, I was wrong about that being my entrée to this thread. My first post here was to mouth off about how bland I thought Kevin Costner was in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. And that reminds me: one ought not to use the word "vanilla" as a synonym for "bland", as I did then. Vanilla flavour is not bland at all!

He was bland, and perhaps great minds really do think alike...?

I slumbered through the last half of "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" in Winnamucca, NV during a stop over on a Greyhound Bus ride on a pilgramage to my parent's house and back. My parents; like Mecca, had to be visited at least once in my life and I was on my way back from a week of great spiritual import and was lulled to sleep by the dulcet tones of Kevin Costner sweeping me away on a vine 'a la Tarzan.'

Merle

and oh, yeah! vanilla is extracted from orchids and in the temperate zones that is pretty exotic. Some times it means you are not into S&M, too.

I preferred 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights', myself. I can only go so far in life without injecting a little sillyness.

Of course, from my limited time here, I can tell any sillyness I might inject would go nearly unnoticed. Spitting in the ocean and all...
