You never said, but is the skin on her back scaly, or does it peel often? yes. after she showers we have to have me take a brush to it to rub to loosen the scales so they'll blizzard off. otherwise they just pile up. now and then she takes a salt scrub to her face and just rubs the beezeezus out of it (wincing to watch, i am) and gets the same effect. but her face looks lovely the next day - all the dull, old skin is gone. she also still has a lot of cradle cap that nothing really does much for. we've been through everything on the market. just have to kind of scrape it off with a comb every so often.
3. Does she crave salt? (I mean - a lot of salt). (You may have told me this already, but I cannot remember. And if I am thinking right - she would crave salt.) she used to pour it in her hand and lick it as a young child - but i used to do that as a young child as well. later she salted her food heavily. basically, ketchup was a mechanism to get salt to stick to her french fries. now she does so less intensely, but she still does salt all her food to what most people do consider excess. i did the salt thing, including the ketchup to get salt to stick to fries, until i was into my twenties, but i was sweating heavily in a no-a/c environment in west texas in the summertime, so i was probably replacing what i was losing. she does not sweat.
4. Are her eyes sensitive to light? very. we've had them checked for tear production and seen by several opthamologists (and optomotrists - can't spell this morning) and they say they are perfectly normal except for a lot of "veils" in them, which are to be of no concern to us, they said. she has extremely good vision. over 20/20. when she was younger she had some problem with delayed accommodation - her eyes took a bit too long to focus, but did eventually. wore reading glasses for a while, around age 12, but no longer needs them. has to have sunglasses on under fluorescent light and definitely outdoors.
Please forgive my constant return to this. I am like a bulldog - once I get into something I cannot let it go. (like OCD on turbocharge ). I hope that I am not bugging the heck out of you.

the latest is that the geneticist wants to have her most recent MRI looked at for chiari malformation, but we have to get through the hoops at the HMO to get the name of the guy who read the MRI to send to the doctor at Children's who is not in the HMO circle and not on our insurance (she's doing this gratis). but the kid is stalling at having to go in to the HMO and ask that her records be sent to the geneticist because she'll have to talk to people she doesn't know. (arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhh! aspieness!!) and since she's now over 18 i can't do it for her.
