Happy New Year, everybody!

... Everybody?

¡Hola, vosotros! ... otros ... otros ... otros ... otros...

Don't know about any of you, but I've certainly been playing the Christmas carols loud enough to rattle the walls. That's my excuse, and I'm stickin' to it. :shaking2:

In the interest of keeping others from naughty kippers and the ensuing green name change, I will offer a small guide for consideration for those that frequent the Ol Spam and Kipper.
Image
This is not a good kipper. This has been around a while. Don't be fooled by it's low price or the fact that it is a two for one sale.

Image These are good kippers. They are not a party hat. Notice the waitress is smiling, always a good sign.

This led me on an interesting trek that has changed my perception of sanity and totally consumed my day.

From Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart (Don Van Vliet) and The Magic Band

OLD FART AT PLAY

pappy with the khaki sweatband
bowed goat potbellied barnyard
that only he noticed
the old fart was smart
the old gold cloth madonna
dancing to the fiddle and saw
he ran down behind the knoll
and slipped on his wooden fishhead
the mouth worked and snapped all the bees

back to the bungalow
momma was flattening lard
with her red enamelled rolling pin
when the fishhead broke the window
rubber eye erect and precisely detailed
airholes from which breath should come
is now closely fit
with the chatter of the old fart inside

an assortment of observations took place:
momma licked her lips like a cat
pecked the ground like a rooster
pivoted like aduck
her stockings down caught dust and doughballs
she cracked her mouth glazed caught one eyelash
rubbed her hands on her gorgeous gingham
her hand grasped sticky metal intricate latchwork
open to the room a smell cold mixed with bologna
rubber bands crumpled wax paper bonnets
fat goose legs and special jellies
ignited by the warmth of the room
the old fart smelled this through his important breather holes
cleverly he dialled from within
from the outside we observed that the nose of the
wooden mask where the holes had just been a moment ago
was now smooth amazingly blended camouflaged in
with the very intricate rainbow trout replica

the old fart inside was now breathing freely
from his perfume bottle atomizer air bulb invention
his excited eyes from within the dark interior glazed
watered in appreciation of his thoughtful preparation

[spoken:]
oh man, that's so heavy.

It went on and on from there, and it's still not over. Here is a linkto some mind-bowing lyrics/poetry

There's something awfully fishy about these recent posts...

Lurking, the fish hat made me smile, have been sleeping LOTS to get thru the holidays and this next month.
Wish I knew how to put a picture on here EASILY, I'd show you all the giant salmon statues here in Anchorage. Lots of "Salmon Stuff" here. They're even on the gaurd-rails here. Cute and artsy. They have a contest every year also. 2 years ago the Salmon from the ARC won.(The ARC is for people with mental and physical disabilities and are advocates for their rights. They'll help you w/ EVERYTHING and I'm glad they won)
I hope everyone has a nice holiday and reading about your families makes me glad that I don't have one. :D ha ha but true. Miss my mom and my daughter but thats it. I guess I should be grateful they disowned me years ago instead of hurt by it huh?

I've been away from this thread for over 24 hours and I find a mysterious nine hour gap after my last post, a time reversed
echo, and where is that smell of fish coming from?

LOVE the video. I'm a big fan of movie shorts. Here's one I happened across a while ago. A strange film, but the music is wonderful.
