I seem to have de-zombified my downstairs heating unit! Luckily, it's only 18 degrees F (wind chill 9) (-8 degrees C) outside. Also, luckily, I have a fireplace, so I just stoked it up. That must have been some powerful hoo-doo we done-did.
Hartz did it! 
(Jon, since Zanne has a cat, I know what happened to her mouse...)

I am really bumming out, here. I rested all day, because I thought my shyness group would be meeting after the holidays. But it looks like we're not. All rested up, and nowhere to go... 
Guess I'll stay inside and keep warm. There's a freeze watch for tonight, and I am finding it a challenge to stay warm. Guess I'll put on another layer.

Some good Baptist members gave me Twister as a present after I had my appendix out! Need I say more?
They were just thinking of your best interests - you know, promoting scar tissue stretching to prevent keloid formation - yeah, that's it!

I do play a mean blues harmonica, but this does not compare with the flute. That is an instrument I have always wanted to try.
I rarely play, but I do have a clarinet.
See, now I would have said the same thing about blues harmonica. My brother had one and I never did get the hang of it.
Now, if I could master the cello...... that is the most beautiful instrument. ((sigh))

Oh, I love a fireplace! I used to have one, when I lived in PA. Now I live in a shabby little house that is more built for hot weather than cold. Brrrr! I took Chuck's advice, and am sipping on hot chocolate, and wearing a scarf. My poor cat has cold paws.

You seem to have a nice grasp of music. What do you play on the flute, blessedmom?
And I miss fireplaces. Thought I'd add that.

Sorry, but that thought makes me laugh.
I don't play it as much as I used to before I had all these kids with sensitive ears. I play mostly classical and folk, used to play Pop and Top 40 when I was a teen and am currently attempting to find the time to learn the pieces in the Celtic songbook I bought last year. I need to have my flute refurbished but was told it'll cost $200.00 to re-do all the pads and re-coat the silver. And when the kids are all old enough I've been thinking it would be fun to join one of the local orchestras. There are different levels and I'd probably have to join Silver until I get back into it.
And that was far more info than you wanted to know I'm sure.
I got my 13 year old a very inexpensive starter-type electric guitar for Christmas. I have to look into lessons for him. My kids are all very musical, as well. One plays clarinet, one plays trumpet, the one with the guitar plays trombone and the little one wants to take violin lessons.
What did I say about perseverating?
