... things I don't know, or think I know but don't, or hear but misunderstand, I make up. I thought you told me you'd be moving this weekend, but would be back Monday. But that was probably what you told me in a realistic dream, perhaps when I fell asleep during (one of the) boring lectures at the seminar I attended on Friday. Or perhaps I am clairvoyant, and I foresaw that you will be moving on some future weekend, but will return on it's respective Monday. ( Gotta fix that glitch in my crystal ball).

Saw the comment on "over-thinking things". I have always done that. Ruminate when things go wrong. My analysis (and admittedly over-analysis, and going back to it, and picking it apart, and re-examination of it, for the nth time ) of a situation is how I learn (perhaps) from it. If I could not do that, my "wheelchair" would indeed be gone. (Good analogy, BTW).

I went to a neurology seminar Friday, hoping to talk with Dr. Goldman, as I have memorized his neuroanatomy book. Unfortunately, he was not in attendance. Wanted to talk to him about the possibility of establishing mirror neurons in an individual without them. Talked with neurologist Derek Schramm, PhD, who was there, and who told me essentially this:



So, theoretically (please note emphasis of the word theoretically, especially since this is coming out of my brain): if a person didn't smoke, exercised regularly, and was in possession of neural stem cells, which could be induced to form into mirror neurons.... that person would have a shot - if what one "learns" with mirror neurons at an early age could be "learned" by an individual at a later stage in life (who had mirror neurons grown in his/her brain); or if they could be "turned on" early enough in an infant's life (born without mirror neurons, or improperly functioning ones).

But your argument 'to work forward from actual clinical neuron-based research', not backward from well-intentioned (but perhaps misguided) theories is correct.

[Those "well-intentioned theories" can "feel" so right that their authors will ignore all facts to the contrary. Offering to pass out Golden Books on Neurology would probably lead to "well-intentioned theory author anger" (herinafter referred to as WITAA) rather than enlightenment - and further fuel your frustration. I hope you do not retreat into the cupboard again, (much as I understand your desire to do so - I was happy in my ignorance as well)].

Now that I know that you all are "out there", I miss you when you leave. I understand your need for a break and an escape - even long ones. But I hope you always return.

Besides, Marcel Proust, at the end of his life, looked back and decided that all the years that he suffered - those were the best years of his life. Because they made him who he was. They forced him to think and grow, and to feel very deeply. And the years that he was happy? Total waste. Didn't learn anything.

...our not having (or having too few, or non-functioning) mirror neurons lead to our use of our "wheelchairs" - to "over-think things". We have developed into who we are as a direct result. Our "genius" (if that is what they wish to call it) is a result.

Universal cure will kill our need to "over-think things".

...with resultant after effects for the entire world which would be associated with such a death.
