..."sore throat, stuffy nose, headache, fever" - that's just the start. "Bottled-up Secret Virus" causes the arms to fall off, the head to explode, and other gruesome unmentionable things. Luckily, the cure is easy: wag your tongue.

ZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPP! mmmmm mmm mmmmmmm mmmm. Mmmmm mm mmmmmmm mmm.

Fine.

 (Tattle!! !) :D

Gromit? DuncanBass? Postie? Nan? Lauri has a secret, ..an', ..an' won't share it!! ! :shameonyou:

Oh no you don't...hillbilly. You might go writing another poem about me and make me all speechless again. Didn't last to long though did it. But, none the less, you're going down this stream in your own inner tube. Oh listen, what could that loud noise be ahead?

Who's back to bed with ya, Lauri? [enquiring minds want to know]
and what's the big secret, huh? what is it?

8O 8O NAN! Tea.... laptop......laptop isn't fond of wearing my tea!! And the other keyboard hasn't been the same since the last time.

How's the weather?

A bit damp. First day back and work and my office is ... squishy. Some question as to our actually remaining here once environmental safety gets in and comes to check it out.

[Nan says: "Damn. If I'd have known my office was going to be rained out I'd never have just done that 1.5 hour commute in the rain to get here to find out that my office was rained out." Unfortunately, as Nan is the first person in the office every morning, there was nobody else here to give a field report. Most of the others who have any sense and who would be arriving just about now have called in sick. Wimps.]

Tea, huh? Hmmmm [truth-o-meter seems a bit out of whack this morning....]

:?: What else would I be drinking at 8:30 in the morning? :?:

Geez! That stinks, Nan. Staying at home would have been a far better plan on a cold, rainy day.

Depends on if 8:30am is "just got up" or "still up" doesn't it? Either that, Lauri, or there's something you haven't shared with us?

What part of this conversation would you like repeated? She spilled something and she won't spill something. What could be simpler?

I am not going to touch this. I already am deep in chocolate debt as it is, I'll be paying off my installments for years to come. You are Mr Squeezyman, if you can't squeeze it out of her, what makes you think I could? And don't forget, she's got the Rock.

Ask Nan. She might be able to lean on Lauri. She's a great leaner, Nan is. That piddling little tower in Pisa has nothing on Nan when it comes to a good leaning.

Your alternative is surveillance. Who do we know has been trained in sneaking up on people?

That should give you a start. Me, I'm not curious. I am serene. I am detached. I am above it all. Or possibly behind. It's hard to tell.

Oh, could it have something to do with Tuesdays? I mean, she had to be back by Monday, right?

Listen to Gromit.... he's serene..... and detached.

Seriously, I don't have a life, how interesting could it possibly be. I'm sure it would bore you all to tears. Or death. And murder by boring secret is just..... well.... boring.

Hard to tell? Would you like me to give my good doctor.. Doc Tomás de Torquemada, a reference to help you? He can help straighten you out and make you tell. Gifted man. He works for the government right now, so maybe it's just me that gets to see him. But I'll put in a good word for you or any word he would like me to say. He's really good at detaching things too.

My word. I'm sure he is. I'll say any words he wants me too. Just say the word. No! Not that word. Please!

And there goes my serenity. Oh well, easy come, easy go. Let's work on this again. Ohmmmm.

...So! We give it our best (even mentions of the Hammer of Heretics, Doc T), and nothing expelled but tea?!? (Hopefully, out the nose). Well then, this hillbilly (thanks a lot Nan) departs for the gym, before yon approaching waterfall-drop (and associated rocks) doth end my river craft. I bid you all a fair morning until my return, advisedly detached.

de nada, hillbilly.

[I did not start that. You will note that a certain hillbilly tried to start stuff w/me. I was peacefully paddling around in my little rubber ducky water wings, minding my own minnows, and WHO has to try to start stuff? Huh? Who? The Hillbilly, that's who. Oh, As If.....]

And in this corner we have...... Doc T, Hammer of Heretics, Pounder of Pagans and good friend of the Queen. And in this corner we have...... The Wirch*, Caster of Cant's, Winder of Whimsy and knows the newt on the knoll. It promises to be the match of the century and will take place on Tuesday, unless Monday comes first. Admission is cheap, all of your marbles and some of your buttons. Deflated inner tubes will be considered partial payment and what's left of you is therefore welcome.

And now the Texas National Anthem, sung by the all girl (maybe) Silicone Cheerleader Squad, in B flat (but they aren't)....

Oh bury meeeee, on the looone praaarieeee, where the goats all roam and the sky is murky from oil burn off allllll daaaaay. *loud cheers, many whistles, assorted gun shots and much drinking of beer*

Let The Inquisition Begin!! !! !! (Monday came first.) But first a word from our sponsor..."SPAM(tm), it's not just for breakfast anymore." and "Spam-X(tm) hair slicker and shoe preservative, Just a little dab will do ya."

*I hit the wrong key, supposed to be Witch, I wasn't even mad and I didn't even hit it hard...... didn't I Nan. Shall we all sing, Row Row Your Boat in 6 part harmony, for Nan as she and her office float down stream with the hillbilly?
