What's in a name?

I'm interested in the basis for the communitys screen names. Anyone care to elaborate? By way of example: NOBS=No BS. Deep huh.

Well, my name's Ben, and I'm an oddball. Mine's not too deep either... Oh, and it anagrams to Blab Noddle.

Mine's just a nickname I had when I was a little kid.

Mine is the name of a Blue October song.

krex is an abbreviation for the planet I believed I was from when I was a kid..I used it in hopes of meeting someone from my planet here...evidently they have forgotten our home planets name because no one has acknowledge being form there.(I was hoping to get directions to get beamed back up.)

Because I am the Lab Pet. This is my nickname, in 'real life,' and I've earned my title. My realm is the laboratory and I am science oriented. I am an outsider by not in my lab. I've worked/researched in many laboratories and I'm firstly a chemist. Quite a long time ago, with my academic mentor nearby, I accidentally dripped sulfuric acid whilst titrating onto the inside of my left forearm above my glove. My lab coat sleeves were rolled up. I screamed, became faint...ouch. I remember I cried because I thought I had disappointed my mentor and I told him I was so sorry - it was my fault and I didn't mean to. Instead of being angry with me (he's was a kind man), he told I never disappointed him. That means a lot to me. He's always called me the Lab Pet, maybe since that accident. The name stuck. My lab coat is embroidered with the Lab Pet, I have a jacket and a shirt with that printed, etc. Some I know, in the lab, refer to me as the Lab Pet......Plus, I think I am sort-of 'pet like,' or animal-ish (not quite human); more like a lab instrument. My name is special to me. I am the pet of the lab.

Krex, I like you name - always. Interesting story behind your name and I never knew. Someday maybe you'll get to see your home planet or inhabitants. Actually, maybe Wrong Planet IS your planet, Krex! I like that you imagined this when you were a kid......I would have liked you then too. May you find that map!

Brittany is my name and those numbers at the end of it is my birthday.

Ryn is a nickname of mine, the first one I ever had and I use it almost like a title or something amongst friends.

I was trying to think of a name that wouldn't alreaddy be taken on forums and such - up until then, I usually used my real name, but it's a pretty common one... Suddenly the idea of toast that lands with the buttered side down and up when you drop it popped into my head.

Am I weird yet?
