This is, IMO, the very best Aspie board out there, so hopefully you can find some comfort and acceptance here.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to WrongPlanet. Last summer was my turn for diagnosis too (at the age of 49)

Even before that I'd created...

"I used to have lots of problems but, by careful study and analysis, I've reduced them all down to one key issue. Now, if only I can remember where I've parked my space-ship."

"Niche" is a good word.
Connotations of home, shelter, fitting, and not having to take account of the entire world.

Welcome!

Don't feel too bad. AS is a gift, not a burden. You just gotta use it right. :)

Howdy, pepsiprincess! Sounds like you'll fit in very well on this board. And don't feel too bad about being shy at first; MANY people on here know what that's like. Just jump in as you feel comfortable and post away. :D

PS- Do you live in British Columbia? Just wondering because of the "BC" at the end of your nick and since you mentioned you live in Canada...

PS#2- Do you like Pepsi? (Just guessing).

Another fellow Canadian, Eh! Welcome to Wrong Planet. :D

I experience racing thoughts, as well. I have a hard time getting them to stop. I'm also haveing a hard time, finding my Niche. I've had two payed Jobs and one Volunteer Job, and none of them have lasted. I feel humble, when I admit to quitting three jobs in five years, because none of them were a good match. I've given up fitting in, a long time ago, after trying to do so, for years. Now I just be myself. I hope you enjoy it, here.

Shelby

welcome pepsiprincess. I am also a 28yr old female. My shrink thinks that all my problems are ADHD and tired to medicate me accordingly. She totally ignored the developmental issues except to say that ADHD can cause them. Developmental dyspraxia caused by ADHD? Nope, shes way off base there. Anyhow, Im persuing the "offical" d'x of aspergers. My family dr agreed that it lookes like it, but said he didnt know enough to diagnose for sure. I totally get "looking for that niche". Let me know how it goes.
