Hi AspieBill! There is a Thread on the forums Called
Aspies 18+ Werribee, or something like that. They have get togethers , dinners occasionally, and chat via the thread.
Give it a go!
I joined WP about a month ago and have found it extremely helpful. :)

any of the sandgropers interested in a meetup of some kind.

I've only had one rather unsuccessful one so far, but that social contact was nice.

PM here, or izaak at iinet dot net do au

but let me know in some form... might even start a thread!

I have +1 so far. Sure it only takes 2 to tango, but a meet-up could use more.

G'day All,

I am new to WP and don't even know if my son has AS. We suspect something of the sort and have been doing a lot of reading recently to try and understand.

My wife has also been learning about Crystal and Indigo children if any of you are interested in alternative ways of looking at things.

Anyway I am in Brisbaneish area.

Cheers,
Matt

I'm in Brisbane ,I'd be intrested but can't help feeling it would be like Bizzaro Jerry (Seinfeld) the one where Elaine introduces Jerry and Co to her new gang she hangs out with their polar opposites yet at the same time are so similar. I have a feeling it would be more extreme than meeting a NT it would either go really really well or really really badly, but what would I know never been to one , though I do no it should be intresting, something I should do at least once in my life.

Can it get a little boring if you don't share the same interests? To be honest with you I think I'd prefer to be with a fellow aspie playing X box, go for a bike ride on my Schwinn (attention seeking) cruiser or a art house movie but I suppose this is still a meet up to. Does it have to be so formal?

Another point would it be just a b***h session I enjoy bitchin as much as anyone though it can get a bit much.

Also would you know if the person your talking to is a WP person? Or would you need some sort of letter from your GP as proof?

And WTF I read on the international meet ups their was discussion of getting the media involved, why would you want to do that all they will do is miss represent what/who we are though the SBS/ABC could be a good bet.
