I am certainly pleased to have found this site. I was first diagnosed when I was 38, after numerous humorous other attempts (well, maybe I am BPII with some anxiety issues, too) but I knew that I was not like other people when at age 4 my hobby was reading the entire Oxford Unabridged Dictionary again and again. I was kind of into 'words' at that time, and by the 5th grade, a notoriously cruel grade (actually, they're all pretty horrible) I had acquired the nickname "The Walking Dictionary" which both embarrassed me and gave a certain secret thrill. I'm 58, divorced, and living with my 18-yr old cat, Dinky, in Austin, Texas, working at an unspeakably horrible state government job---over-educated and underpaid, I am in it for the insurance benefits only. I was moved to the point of tears after reading what some of you had written about your jobs, fortunately, one of my very few friends called at that exact moment and saved me from a meltdown at the keyboard. I could go on and on about music, film, political theory or my horrific job, but I'll just close and say I'm so glad to hear what other people are dealing with. Thank you!
