Hello, I'm new, I'm 22 male and attending university in montreal at the moment. My shrinks diagnosed me with nvld a while back and they're pretty sure I have aspergers...I guess when a lot of people think about aspergers, they figure someone like the rainman who's really good with numbers..I can't do math worth a s**t. I did those tests and my math is in the 45th percentile and my reading composites in the 99th percentile...My overall I.Q. is a dead average.

I also have severe narcissistic and obsessive personality traits that make it hard to even connect with other aspergers like people...and so I can I've never had any kind of close relationship in my life..besides my mom.

anyways, here are things that I like:
band:shellac
author:celine
movie:spinal tap

...it's really nice to meet you guys,
nick

Hi. I've always wondered if it is possible to overcome? work around? narcissism.

Welcome! I was born in Montréal (Mascouche) and now live in Kingston, Ontario, after quite a few moves all over Canada (Québec, NWT, Québec again, Ontario).

Hope you find some good info and maybe make a few friends on here!

I have begun to wonder whether it even always is.

Welcome, Nick!

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
