Well, i usually kill popular threads by posting once in them, then nobody posts in them anymore, and if they do, i never get a reply to a post I make. I make threads, nobody USUALLY don't post in them, and ignore them.

hmmmm

I hadn't noticed that. And I'm not terribly sure I agree that it happens to you more than to others.

Ah, good point.

So, you're not saying you are noticed less than a standard amount of time. You are asking how you can be noticed a more than standard amount of time?

Thank you for asking me to be clearer.

I assumed that when you stated that you kill threads and no one posts in your threads, that you were saying that this happened to you more than to other posters. You corrected this mis-assumption. You stated that you didn't say it happened to you more than it happened to others.

I read this to mean that you acknowlege that what happens to you on these forums is normal. IE your posts are ignored to the same degree that other people's posts are ignored.

If that is true, that you get the normal response rate, is this thread a question on how to get more than a normal response rate to your posts?

I'm just asking if there's something I can do to be more noticed.

People ignore me in real life.

Even if they all have Asperger's, the other members are well respected. Like GhostHunter, everyone knows him well. I kinda do feel like I am ignored more than others.

Ah, thank you for clarifying that.

I hope others can help more as I'm pretty sure my thoughts will not help you.

It hurts to be ignored.

It is also normal to be ignored.

Everyone is very busy with their lives and have a limited amount of time and energy to spend on other people.

It is true that in any group, some will get more attention. Ghosthunter in this forum is a good example. There are maybe five people or so that really stand out. Five out of almost 2,000. Not good odds.

Its a matter of being in the right place at the right time. At some point you will be in a group where everything clicks and YOU are the one that stands out.

For myself, it helps to know its not me...everyone is ignored. And it helps to get involved in groups where I have a chance to stand out.

Good luck to you, EvilWalks.

Well, ghosthunter has way more than 10 times the amount of posts that you have.

So this is a typical forum, people are judged by the amount of posts you have...

Go here: http://forums1.sonymusic.com/groupee/forums/a/frm/f/286101211 (a similar forum. Except people are treated like crap there)

Alex,

You brought this on yourself.

EvilWalks,

I think its a combination of number of post and CONTENT of posts with the emphasis on CONTENT. And personality.

Some of it is that GH is always asking questions about not only himself, but others!

The quickest way to popularity (on the net) is to show an interest in others. Or at least aknowleding that they exisist/are interesting.

Of course, many of us here have problems with just that. . . .. . . . .

Good luck.
