Hi everyone. I've been reading about Asperger's and autism a lot and I think I might have some degree of Asperger's. I have an appointment with a shrink in a few weeks. I'm hoping to find out if I have Asperger's or if I'm just looking for excuses for my own eccentricity and awkwardness. Guess we'll find out... thanks for having me...

yo and good luck with your appointments, they can be somewhat frustrating at first and people who dont fucntion as we do only go after paper work and stereotypes.
It also depends if you get a smart and understanding person to evaluate you or a total imbecile, if you don't like the person I hope/guess you can only change. Just say you don't feel comfortable with him/her.

First time i went to a evaluator for asperger cases I was met by and older woman in her 60's and she had a dog present in the room that she called her assistant,... no joke. She began speaking to me like I was 5 years old and I got very frustrated that just because I'm not very verbal and quick speaking she thought I wasn't understanding her, and all I could do was stare at that damn puddle and think "f**k this...".

Well good luck to ya and welcome to WP.
