Hello everyone! I'm new here.
My name is Lina and I'm diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome since November 2009.
It was my parents who started to get worried about me, so I had to be investigated - and I got my Asperger diagnosis, just like they thought I would.
I am 13, soon 14, years old and live in Sweden. My interests: animals, books, photography, writing and drawing.
I'm 164 cm tall, have light blond hair and blue-green eyes.
I don't socialize with others, I prefer to be alone. I'm very quiet and withdrawn and think that all social situations are hard.
I'm scared of almost everything, I'm picky when it comes to food and clothes, and I hate my self almost always.
I don't know how to behave myself when I talk, socalize and when I'm around people. Everything I do seems to go wrong.

Hello Lina! (Wave) :D
Welcome sweety! I'm new here two. Only joined today!
I understand what your going through. You are lucky in some ways. You have been diagnosed early in life. You can get support and understanding from this. I was only diagnosed myself a year ago. I'm now almost 27.
It's okay to want to be alone. The way you are isn't wrong, It just makes things more difficult for you to handle.
When i was your age i found it very hard. But you do learn to adapt.
I have alway been very scared too... That is a hard one. But it's how we deal with our fear that counts. Nothing wrong with being afraid. Just learn to be it's master rather than let it control you.
So you love to write, read, draw, and do photography! These are very wonderful and creative things. A great way to express yourself!
You've also taken your first step by joining this Forum... That's a brave thing to do! Your not alone in this.
Best of luck Lina. I wish you well.
Regards,
Adam.H

164cm long is an odd way to describe height, but maybe it's just me :)

I will tell you know that Aspergers, ESPECIALLY at younger ages, can make social life tough.

I also used to be very picky about food/clothes (less so now) so I understand that one :)

But above everything, do not hate youself for this stuff. It is not your fault, and though I am not there, I can pretty much promise you are not doing anything really "wrong"

Honestly, Highschool is going to be rough most likely. Just remember to take it stride, be youself, ignore the gossip, and most of all, do something I wish I did, and remind yourself your fine. It's like driving, it's not you who you have to worry about on the road, it's everyone else :)

Welcome to WP as well. I am sure you'll fit in on here, just don't be like me and post radical views that upset people :P

Hello Adam!
Thank you. Welcome to WrongPlanet you also.
Yes, I agree that it's fortunate that I was diagnosed so early. Now I get the help I need in school and now my parents and teachers understand me a little bit more. Before, they forced me to do lots of things wich was tough.
Thanks for telling me that it's not wrong to be alone.
And in the future I will try to manage my fears.

Hi. :) Thank you.
Almost everyone here in Sweden describe their height that way. How do you write your height?
Thanks for the advice, I will try to remember that.

I am 6'6", or 6 feet, 6 inches tall. I would have used tall instead of long, but thats just me. If you need advice in school or anything feel free to ask.

OK. I changed the word; "long" became "tall".
Nice. :)

Oh geeze, you did not have to! That makes me sound like a jerk :(

Don't base how you do things on how I do things. Just because I would use a word does not mean you have to :) Maybe when describing cm long is correct, I never use cm for that so I don't know. Be yourself, and don't be afraid to do things your way if you feel it is right. If you think somebody is wrong, tell them as such. They may still think they are right, and they may BE right, but that does not mean you should never challenge :)

Be yourself, be original, and to anyone who says your strange, remember that "Strange is in the eye of the beholder" - That means everyone sees things differently.

Now i feel like a jerk.. I was not trying to say do it either way, just to be yourself... if you want to put "long" instead of "tall", do so. Just be yourself, don't care what I want. If it's really wrong somebody will tell you :)

Please don't take my comments regarding your spelling or anything personally at all, if anything it's my fault.
