Hello. My name is Darry. I live for reading and writing. I love disappearing into another world whether it is my own creation or someone else's. I like all sorts of fiction such as horror, fantasy, true crime, science fiction and classics. I have loved reading for all my life. When I was a toddler in Russia I somehow taught myself to read in Russian. Unfortunately I lost the ability because I moved to the states and lost the ability to speak Russian. Yes, odd as it sounds, you can lose your first language if you don't speak it long enough, especially when you're very young. I struggled with learning to read English and didn't get it until I was eight but once I did I suddenly got extremely good at it. By the age of nine I was pouring over my mother's college textbooks. She is a professor so she encouraged it. I'm not hyperlexic though. I was just an early reader. One of my favorite books is Good Omens and I have read it many times. When it comes to writing I mainly stick with horror and fantasy but I am going to branch out science fiction once I finish my current story. I also absolutely love poetry too and I write it often. I used to be awful at it but now I am rather good though I have much to improve. I sometimes do parodies but I find they are only funny to myself most of the time, though I have amused some people. I am fairly good at social skills though I sometimes get very nervous talking to people. I have a few friends and they are very cool. Most people find me very geeky and highly eccentric. Yeah, so, I hope that reading this post wasn't a total waste of your time. ^.^

I developed language rather late but a few years later I was ahead of my classmates in reading.

You have a very charming voice which was very nice to read, welcome.

I enjoy writing but for some reason fiction does not suit me, I am rather inept at it. lol

And of course, reading - mostly I've read fictional material and for some years I've taken to more Eastern material, especially Japan [Haruki Murakami, Natsuo Kirino, Kenzaburo Oe], but other places too.
