Hello, I'm a college student (freshman) that has been recently diagnosed last summer. I was originally a bi-polar depressive, but the meds have never worked and i never seemed to be getting any better. So a physician gave me a test and I fit the criteria. This conflicts with my personal belief that a label should not define someone. I have found that joining a fraternity, nuts right? has probably been the greatest help ive ever had. Brothers look out for you and try to make you a better person in these adult social situations (college seems to propagate a lot of them). most social cues whistle over my head javascript:emoticon(':?:') But my big brother has found a solution, discrete hand signs when a situation has gotten out of hand (this happens quite frequently with me). The worst is when someone asks me about computers. Everything from troubleshooting to the latest toys, i could talk till I see blood trickling from your ears. I've been called into prof's offices on multiple occasions to let the other people talk. But hey, no one else is putting up a hand... I find that not broadcasting to the world my state of mind (not a condition) helps a lot, even to profs. People are quick to judge.

Anyone out there on this messed up planet have advice/feelings/rants on Aspergers
