Hi, I'm Caity. I'm from Scotland and I'm 15 years old. Not an offical Aspie, though at the rate the NHS are going at- I never will be. I'm obsessed with fashion at the moment, though fantasy novels are my main passion (Yes, Harry Potter & Twilight included.)

Hi Cathy, welcome to WP.

How necessary is it for you to get a diagnosis?

Hi Khan_Sama.
I think for me it's just so I know that's what is going on with me. And the education system won't help with school and exams until there's something 'officially wrong'.

Hey Caity,

Welcome to Wrongplanet from another UK member :D

Diagnosis is never really too late, you can still be able to, I would strongly recommend you see a GP or something, from what I remember because with me, its been a long time ago...

What they do is talk talk and talk about issues you maybe going through and they could refer you to another place, in my case, I was referred to Maudsley which I went there to get my diagnosis there, it took a couple of appointments to point out I have autism and I was abit "crazy" as people would call it, I even tried to electrocute myself at some point but didn't realise, that's when the teacher spotted something not right.

I even got transferred to another school.

But in your case, your most likely to still be in your current school since by the sounds of it, you might be coping well in there.

And good luck on your quest on that. :)

Ah, I see.

I personally don't want to be diagnosed. It doesn't really make a difference here.

Good luck to you!
