Hello everybody!

My name is Jenna, I am an 18-year-old with PDD-NOS. My older brother (who is now 21) is an Aspie.

When it comes to school, I went the unconventional way like my brother. I've always been very bored with high school and recently decided to get my GED and go straight to nursing school.

To other teenage girls/women with autism: Have you ever dealt with more than your fair share of "mean girl" stuff? I had to transfer schools because I was bullied so badly by other girls.

Anyway, things I love: Gymnastics, European royal history (especially the English Tudor era, I could talk forever about that), mental health/nursing, a good story, reading, writing, daydreaming.

Things I hate: People that are too loud, long-sleeved shirts, tight clothes, calling someone on the phone, chatspeak.

Welcome to the wrong planet Palemoon!
I'm sure you'll fit right in here.

We have plenty of threads about day dreaming and the events here are sometimes the stuff stories are made of.

I'm a premed student at the moment, and I believe I've seen others around WP interested in the medical field and at least one person who was in it. Ardent something, he usually hangs around the members only area if he's here at all.

I was bullied a good bit, but I was the sort of kid who happily told on bullies at a the drop of a hat. And if I told on someone a couple of times and the teacher on duty wouldn't do anything, I would happily take matters into my own hands, which sometimes happened to contain a clarinet case or a purse. There was rumor that followed me around that my purse contained bricks. Just a rumor though.

Yup. I seriously suspect some of it (notably older girls/women), were either to do with a closet bi-sexual nature, or insecurity to break / rid themselves of female competition in what they felt was their territory.
I grew up and realized my entanglements with "peers" were actually inferiors.. their motivations spawn from the base part of their brain. I get along with intelligent people :

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."
-- Mark Twain

I grew up and saw my daughters bullied at school. One particular bully was aggressively putting her hands on my daughter (groping??) and my daughter complained to the school and nothing was done. That bully had a long line of complaints from other children. The school wanted to "diplomatically" string out the process... didn't want to offend anyone, perhaps? Being a survivor of rape, I called up the principal and told him my daughter had a difficult time enough, even reporting the abuse.. and if they didn't do something, I'd strap a camera with my daughter to record the abusive behavior and post it on YouTube.
Oh no no no, we can't have that... no. They not only took the camera away from my daughter without any legal explanation (other kids had their camera phones and ipods at school) but that bully was expelled from school. I heard she was sent to a "special school" that deals with juvenile delinquents. My PTSD tends to get things done, because my Aspergers certaintly doesn't.
It's very "unbecoming of a lady" to be aggressive and forceful, I know, but when you're a passive, polite lady... Aspergers are often victimized and people sniff you out as an "easy touch" and vulnerable, and will most certainly take advantage of you (at least try to)... and push you around, and will bully you and force their will on you... and then there's this other thing (mentioned above) that comes out in me sometimes that scares the **** out of people, I'd rather keep in the closet. I like to be polite, and friendly with people.
I want to live in a world where there's peace and love and people are friendly to one another, and treat each other like they want to be treated, dammit .

Hi!

I did the same thing in High School. It was so boring and just a repeat of what we did in Middle School. I got my GED and started college at 16. I liked college a lot better.

I'm not in the spectrum, but I'm not very typical in my own way. I got bullied a lot in school as well, just verbal stuff but I hated it. I always had a few good friends, though. Thinking back my friends were probably Aspies or PDD-NOS for the most part. I've got a kind of quirky personality type and am very insightful. It can creep people out. Some of my teachers hated it and would give me a hard time, others loved it and helped grow into it. In college I ran into a lot more of the latter.
